Good spot for a cup of coffee or a quick sandwich. Everything here comes from organic farming and is prepared while you wait and in your sight. If you happen to go during peak hours, you will probably spend there a bit more time than expected though.

Charming cafe, located on a random thoroughfare in a low-income residential area in Vienna's 3rd district where one would rather expect a Döner stand or an Asia take-out. The cafe / pub seems an owner-run one-man affair which appears as much a love-project than a business, with a nice selection of coffee blends, jams, and other deli treats (see images). Order a sandwich, and you'll get to watch the owner prepare it from scratch, all ingredients cut from blocks of bread, cheese, or veggie, making it obvious that these most likely come from local sources rather than from the BILLA supermarket outlet across the street. Prices are below what a premium Vienna bakery chain would charge you and only slightly higher than what a discounter such as BackWerk would set you back for. What you might want to bring, is a measure of "Gemütlichkeit", especially if the owner is busy preparing multiple customers' " Brotzeit" (read: brunch). If you're in a hurry, you'd be missing the appeal of these small shops, of which Vienna has lost enough of, with small retailers, art cinemas, and all the other stores and establishments having been buried by giant retail chains and online shopping — my personal gripe is the disappearance of "Beisln", these small, working-class pubs/cafes/restaurant-ish establishments found on every other corner, where one could actually order a small "goulasch" (think oversized tapa) and an 1/8 glass of red house wine for a few Schillings (arcane pre-€ Austrian currency :-). But I digress :-). IAC, this is one of the easiest 5-star ratings I have posted.
