Between Opera and St Marx, line 71 is overcrowded every morning and every evening. Passengers are squeezed like crazy and some cannot get on board. The tramway passes every 7 minutes, so Wiener Linien have room to fix the situation (such as a 3 min frequency) but they don't do it. Moreover, they cancelled the extension of line U5 to St Marx despite the surge of population in the area which started a few years ago (Eurogate 1) and will worsen in 5 years (Eurogate 2). The policy of Wiener Linien is a shame for the whole city: in addition to wienese inhabitants, tourists suffer too (there are numerous hotels between Opera and St Marx).

Wiener Linien provided a quality level of service during our time in Vienna. The biggest drawback however is that they do not provide their schedule information to Google for maps. If I had known this beforehand I would've downloaded another app, but why the need to be so complicated? Secondly, many of the cars are older and unique but lack AC for the warm summer days. Over, prices were quite affordable and it was easy to connect to a number of destinations around the city once we had their transit app.

My experience with the Weiner Linien during our stay in Vienna was very positive. Ticketing system can be somewhat confusing for things outside the Wien Kern but overall very positive and a very good value. Subways, trams, trains and buses were clean, very efficient and always on time. I always felt very safe on these as well and they were never that crowded even during the high season around Christmas time.

I was highly disappointed with the service that I received with this company. The way in which the ticket officers and conductors treated me, lacked respect and understanding. As I am an English speaking tourist, little clarification and information was provided to me, and staff were very dismissive and rude. One of the conductors was so offensive that he even made me cry and threatened me. I felt bullied and violated. When I tried to get clarification from offices regarding the treatment, I was dismissed and not understood. I will definitely avoid using this service ever again.

I was in the ÖBB train and I showed my student pass for the first semester. The inspector asked me for 105 euros. I'm a foreign student and I didn't know that the pass has just expired the last week. 105 euros is extremely hard for a foreign student in those covid situations. That's unfair.

Attention visitors, please read the transportation rules very carefully. The security army of Wiener Linien is not known to show any mercy, especially if you do not follow their orders immediately. There's are several reports and videos of people getting injured or forced to the ground because they were not carrying covid masks. Best luck, survive the ride.
