Auf der Strecke fährt man an wunderschön gelegenen Parkplätzen vorbei, die alle eine schöne Aussicht auf das Bergpanorama bieten. A bit expensive but a lot of fun driving this beautiful road. On the route you drive past beautifully located parking lots, all of which offer a beautiful view of the mountain panorama.

Möglichkeit ab dem letzten Parkplatz auf den Gipfel zu gehen (Hütte). Bei Nebel im Tal ist man oben oft in der Sonne. Am Ende der Straße und 1km davor zwei Gasthäuser. Ab Mitte November bis April?? gratis Minus: Wenn nicht gratis gibt es eine teure Maut, an schönen Tagen überlaufen. Beautifully laid out mountain road, viewpoints, wonderful views of the Julian Alps and the Tauern. Possibility to go to the summit from the last parking lot (hut). When there is fog in the valley, you are often in the sun at the top. At the end of the street and 1km before that there are two restaurants. From mid-November to April ?? free Minus: If not free, there is an expensive toll that overflows on nice days.

Es gibt einige Parkplätze entlang der Straße, sodass man anhalten und die Landschaft genießen und vielleicht sogar von weiter unten aus die Wanderung beginnen kann. In der Saison sind die Parkplätze ganz oben meist sehr chaotisch zu geparkt, daher lohnt es sich ein oder zwei Parkplätze weiter unten zu starten! Nice, long and sufficiently developed road high on the Villacher Alpe. There is some parking space along the road so you can stop and enjoy the scenery and maybe even start the hike from further down. During the season, the parking spaces at the top are usually very chaotic, so it is worthwhile to start one or two parking spaces further down!
M	Michael Plenk on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein absolutes Highlight, sehr schöne und gut erhaltene Fahrbahn. Der Einfahrtspreis für PKW ist sehr fair. Weiter gehts dann auf den Dobratsch nur zu Fuß. Über den Jägersteig ist die Wanderung anspruchsvoll aber sehr schön. An absolute highlight, very beautiful and well-preserved roadway. The entry price for cars is very fair. Then you continue on the Dobratsch only on foot. The hike over the Jägersteig is challenging but very beautiful.

L	L T on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Plan well your destination on Gmaps! IF YOU JUST HEAD FOR THE VILLACHER ALPENSTRASSE ROAD ON GMAPS, YOU MAY END UP IN A CLOSED ROAD. Instead search for "Villacher Alpenstrassen- FremdenverkehrsgmbH" which is located near the pay-toll booth (18 € - August 2019; it may be worth to check if the Kärnten card includes the admission). You will find two types of signals: Green-Kehre[1 to 7]-Hairpin turn Blu-P[1 to 11]-Parking As you drive uphill parking 2 and 3 are on the left. You may prefer to stop on the way back in order to avoid crossing the road and to cool the brakes down. Parkings 7-8-9-10 are reasonably close to the highest one number 11.
