In diesem rund 664.000 Hektar großen Biotop, mit dem 6 Hektar großen Weikerlsee, haben eine Anzahl von bereits selten gewordenen Tieren und Pflanzen ihren idealen Lebensraum gefunden. Auf teils markierten aber auch verschlungen Pfaden kann man diese fast dschungelartige Landschaft mit seiner üppiger Vegetation erkunden und sich an der hier noch intakten Natur erfreuen.
Wonderful idyllic and natural recreation area located away from the city.
In this approximately 664,000 hectare biotope, with the 6-hectare Weikerlsee, a number of already rare animals and plants have found their ideal habitat. On partly marked but also winding paths you can explore this almost jungle-like landscape with its lush vegetation and enjoy the still intact nature.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Diese Gegend um den Weikerlsee war bis zum Bau der Solar City, wesentlich natürlicher, uriger und zum Teil war das richtiger Urwald.
Im Zuge der Neuentstehung, Anfang der 1990er Jahre, wurde allerdings beim Bau der Wohn- als auch Naherholungsanlagen, ordentlich Natur geschändet und zerstört, später wieder um viel Geld renaturiert und letztlich zur Pseudo-Naturschutz-Anlage "Traun-Donau-Auen" hochstilisiert.
Until the construction of the Solar City, this area around the Weikerlsee was much more natural, rustic and in part it was real jungle.
In the course of the new development, at the beginning of the 1990s, however, during the construction of the residential and local recreation facilities, nature was properly desecrated and destroyed, later renatured at great expense and ultimately stylized to the pseudo-nature conservation facility "Traun-Donau-Auen".
