Wenn die Tourist Info auch am Sonntag noch 1-2h auf hätte, würde ich noch einen Stern mehr spendieren.
If the tourist information was open for 1-2 hours on Sunday, I would give one more star.

This is a review for "SINGLE TRAIL GROSSARL" ..... (for which the Tourist Office is apparently responsible) The experience was terrible. This has to be hands down the worst "flow trail" built in a ski resort I have ridden in my life (and I have been riding trails in Europe, Australia and Canada). I was so stoked to hear about it as the area of Grossarl-Gastein falls seriously behind the rest of Austrian ski resorts regarding "Spaß" for summer MTB clients. Now I feel it would be better if there was no trail rather than this joke of a "flow" trail. Grossarl has amazing slopes and perfect freeride possibilities in winter and this effort might as well hurt it's reputation - at least among bikers. WARNING: this is NO TRAIL FOR BEGINNERS. It's so badly built it is dangerous for any inexperienced riders. Uneven bumpy trail with transverse water drain ditches (that does kill your flow). Very soft especially on the top, with terrible water drainage (at places 20cm thick mud). Only about every fourth turn on this trail is a berm and even those are sometimes so tight you have to wipe most of your speed of coming to them. Where's the flow in that hey. Bigger part of the trail resembles a tourist path with gravel on the surface and tight corners without berms. As to what the trail has to offer to experienced riders: about 1000m out of the 10km are really fun. You just can't trust this trail - there's only some 5 or so little kickers or jumps but more than half of those lead you out of the trail and into very rough steep terrain when you hit them in speed. Also pretty dangerous. Conclusion: there's nothing of interest here for experienced riders and it's dangerous business for beginners who might feel like they go on an entry level trail (as is described in official promo materials). Advanced riders will have much more fun (I mean it's a different level) in nearby Wagrain Bike Park. Beginners will have much more fun honing there new bike riding skills on a flow trail in nearby Dienten by Hochkönig. PS: it felt weird seeing the trail surface trampled by cows. It felt even weirder running into a herd of actual cows on the trail. I find this unbelievable. How can you go dh mountain biking while at the same time watching out for cows trying to avoid seriously dangerous collision? Someone's gonna get hurt here big time. PPS: Seeing how much dirt had to be removed made me think: 1) who is the owner of this project 2) who made the project 3) who executed the project 4) who paid for it. As 2) and 3) are a fail I feel genuinely sorry for the 4)
