The vets take their time, speak English and are very caring. I find them to be expensive, like every vet in Vienna.

2½ stars. Maybe we just had bad luck, I suppose other have good experiences. Personally for us sometimes the care is ok, but sometimes honestly- its really not ok. It depends on the situation and who is there. Some of the doctors and assistants are very friendly and compassionate, in contrast others are indifferent, uncompassionate and even a little rude. I understand an animal hospital can be stressful sometimes with so many patients but I used to work in a human hospital ER/ICU and even on my most stressful day I never treated patients with indifference or rudeness. Yes, I was provided with competent, helpful advice from some doctors on certain occasions and picking up medicines here is easy and convenient. But on other occasions the incompetence/behavior of other doctors/assistants has unfortunately compromised my trust in this clinic. In February our dog needed a broken tooth removed under anesthesia and they neglected to monitor her body temperature during and after the procedure. I was holding her during her recovery and she should have been waking up from anesthesia but, instead she became less and less responsive and was barely breathing. When I alerted the assistant she was very dismissive and unconcerned and even seemed irritated by my worries until she finally checked my dog's temperature and it was 35°. Then they finally put her under a warming blanket. It is a well-known fact that small breed dogs are always at risk of hypothermia due to anesthesia, they should have anticipated and prevented it. If I hadn't been there to hold her during recovery, I worry that the situation could have become very severe or even deadly because they neglected to monitor her. Eventually she was ok, with no permanent damage but it was a stressful and traumatic experience for both our dog and for us. A few months later we brought our other dog for a small ear issue which we thought would be a quick, simple and straightforward treatment, with no risk of any complications like our prior experience but, unfortunately we had an unlucky situation where there was a questionable finding that led to further diagnostics under anesthesia which turned out to be completely unnecessary, yet very expensive for us. Although it was an honest mistake, when combined with the prior experience I just don't trust bringing my dogs here anymore.
