★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So i have to write a not good review even i do not have high expectations for accomodations.
This is American hostel, you do not get anything from Austrian culture. Despite everybody is ´smily´and friendly; if you are not at the time for breakfast or the dinner, they get very emotional! I have been so shocked by the owner’s behavior.
House is white trash style; it is all yaky, mouses everywhere....it is terrible.
We have payed two different prices for the same room: 50€ per night, later 33€.
This is incredible. This is not Austria guys, it is just a mess.
And the food is not good.
Higly recomended not visit this place, there are real Austrian accommodations in the area, but not this one.

Location was a bit out of town and unfortunately it rained while I was there, so it wasn't convenient to walk or bike the 5 km into town. They do have bikes for rent however, with a great list of recommended activities for hiking and biking adventures
All in all, a very relaxing stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gerhard is actually an angel incarnate and this place is heaven on earth. Expect delicious home cooked meals, incredible natural sights and a host who treats every guest like family. He knows everyone by name and does his best to make sure everyone is happy. From making arrangements for marshmallow roasting to dropping you at the station, Gerhard goes above and beyond.
TL;DR This place is amazing and it's one of my fondest travel memories.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didn't think I could get something like this on a backpackers budget! This place is in the middle of mountains and Austrian forests. Gerhard was extremely accommodating and hilarious. The beds are so comfy and you can drink straight out of the lake behind the house! My only regret is that I didn't stay longer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favorite hostel so far. Gerhard, and the whole staff are great. If I was in Europe longer I would have stayed longer. I had lots of fun hiking and biking to the lake. I was recommended staying at the treehouse by another person I met while travelling and I will be passing along the same recommendation to others I meet.
