I've been living in this student residence since October 2021 and I have to say that my image is getting worse and worse for the following reasons: Starting with the price, which varies depending on the room option (private/shared room/bathroom, private kitchen, etc.), for a private, relatively large room, with a shared bathroom, €430 is okay in itself, given all the additional services that you can expect on actually promised on the Stuwo website. Emphasis on "if" and "were". It is advertised on the website that you get access to a gym, music room and party room, although the gym and music room have been closed for most of the last half year and we have not received any refund for this non-received service. We continued to pay full price. Also, this "party room" is more of a "storage room" as it has never been open since I moved in, on the grounds of "unpleasant occurrences". First of all, collective punishments are forbidden by law in Austria and quite apart from that: what did you think of a STUDENT dorm? That everyone goes to bed at 6:00 p.m. after the Sandman? For me, this shows that the residence administration has no relation and understanding to students. There is also a sauna that hasn't been open the whole time. We pay/continue to pay full price. These things alone are outrageous and constitute a criminal offense as this is where we pay for services not received without good reason, but it goes further: Weekly cleaning is promised in the contract and on the site, which is a lie. The actual cleaning happens every two weeks and the other week only the rubbish is removed. In winter they are even too good for heating, because in the first winter months the heating cannot be switched on and in November you really freeze in your room. On top of that, the internet doesn't work as promised. There are permanent, complete blackouts of the internet infrastructure, which when we consider that we are in a pandemic of online teaching, is just outrageous and incredibly careless of the students. Again, this shows that the home administration has no connection whatsoever with its residents, but let's move on to the next point. This is the general decrepitude and need of renovation of the building. Mold is growing in the kitchens, plaster is falling off the walls and water leaks are causing the kitchen furniture to rot. My ventilation in the bathroom molds so badly that you can't use it and the heating turns on here and there when it feels like it and not when you do it yourself. The elevators are smeared, as well as the walls in the stairwell and you can partially see traces of vomit on the walls. The left elevator indicator doesn't work, some kitchen utensils don't work, and the locks on the food drawers aren't what they used to be either. In addition, the building has defects that go beyond this wear and tear: the food/refrigerator compartments are far too small and sometimes difficult to reach, I feel like the witch from Hansel and Gretel every time I want to go to my compartment because it is so is badly placed. The kitchen is also very dark and poorly furnished. The next "problem" are the room doors: they don't close properly, which means that you are woken up every morning by the cleaning staff (which of course is not their fault). In addition, you cannot leave the bathroom and room door open at the same time, otherwise you will lock yourself out. The bed is very hard and really small, but the desk is relatively large. In addition to all these shortcomings and broken promises, another reason for complaints is the administration of the home. They have always been too polite to react to our e-mails and inquiries. They didn't even respond to my questions about moving in. Due to these circumstances, I do not recommend anyone to move in.

Room deposit only partially refunded. No response to emails asking for explanation. I am disappointed by the lack of transparency and response exhibited by STUWO with regards to my deposit refund. I received my deposit yesterday and was surprised to see that it was missing 41 euros (excluding the cleaning fee). Seeing that the landlady and I both confirmed that there wasn't any damage done to my room and kitchen locker at the time of my departure, I don't see why 41 euros was further deducted from my deposit. I expected better business conduct from STUWO, as it is recommended by the University of Vienna, but I suppose that the school should be informed about the organization's opaqueness.

I have received an offer from the "strozzigasse". It was unclear but require a quick answer; therefore, I contact them by email to having more details. I never received any responses. A few days later, I call them; the woman didn't answer to my questions but promised me to respond to my precedent email within 10 minutes. She never contacts me again. I find this disrespectful !

The street and the location is really nice, beautiful neigborhood. The rooms are fine, you can sence the ageing of it but that wasn't my biggest problem. Also the staff that works there is pretty nice cleaning ladies and janitor... they are all nice people. But the problem i had was with the administration in the bureau. Lady that was working there was every single time really rude and irritated when I had some questions. And every person that i know from the dorm had the same problem with her. That is the fact that I can accept, since I wasn't thare that often. But the thing that i can't accept is what happened to me last Month. It was my last Month in the dorm and i wasn't in my dorm for a week or so. I've payed for a full month, I've always payed upfront and in time. In the time of my absence, they made a mistake and gave keys of my room (with all of my personal items, laptop, documents, camera ect. inside) to a perfect stranger. He was sleeping in my Room for 4-5 days. They didn't even bother to tell me that... I had to hear it from my floormates. This is a mistake that can't just pass unnoticed!!! They didn't even bother to tell me sorry or anything. I had to contact the Heimleiter, and wait for the call back the whole day, where he told me he will see what he can do. Almost a Month from that incident no e-mail no call... SO IF YOU WOULD LIKE FOR YOUR DORM TO USE YOUR ROOM AS AIRBNB WHILE YOU ARE ON A VACATION, AND NOT TELL YOU ABOUT IT AND NOT EVEN GIVE YOU A COMPENSATION FOR IT JUST GO AHEAD... not to mention at the end that they have policy of giving Kaution for the dorm almost 60 day after you move out, that is really unpractial if you want to move somewhere else, but i guess that is a different topic...

I have two concerns regarding this dorm. One, the landlady sends out important announcements regarding dorm events, news, etc. in only German, despite being fully aware that there are international students here. Two, the fire alarm system rings sporadically throughout the day and even during the night at times. Other than the lack of hospitality by the landlady and the malfunctioning fire alarm system, the dorm is quite nice; the neighborhood around is lovely.

Positive: Overall, good location and friendly people. New kitchen with induction stove, shared with 2 other rooms, enough storage space. Clean fridge/freezer. Negative: From the 700€ room deposit, only 600€ got payed back due to the "cleaning fee", altough the room was left behind in perfect condition. This fee was never mentioned. Rent is already pretty high compared to other dorms, there is really no need to take another 100€. Also, many rooms need renovation from what i have seen. A wall in my room had *green mold*, which simply got wiped off with a towel, i don't think they will properly remove it anytime soon.
