G	Gottfried W. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stein an der Donau ist ein Stadtteil von Krems an der Donau. Jahrhundertelang war es eine eigene Stadt und wurde erst 1938 an Krems angeschlossen. In der zweiten Republik blieb Stein Teil der Stadt Krems und teilte im Wesentlichen deren Entwicklung. Insbesondere in den 1990er-Jahren wurde durch die Auflassung der Tabakfabrik und die dadurch bedingte Ansiedlung der Donau-Universität und der Kunsthalle Krems erhielt der Stadtteil neue Impulse. Die am Anfang der Steiner Landstraße befindlichen Museen werden unter der Dachmarke Kunstmeile Krems geführt und vereinen unter anderem das 2001 erbaute Karikaturmuseum Krems, eine Artothek, das Forum Frohner und viele weitere Einrichtungen. 2000 werden die Altstädte von Krems und Stein als Teil der Wachau zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe ernannt. Stein an der Donau is a district of Krems on the Danube. For centuries it was a city of its own and was only connected to Krems in 1938. In the second republic, Stein remained part of the city of Krems and essentially shared its development. M	Manfred Thomas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die alten Gassen in Stein sind immer einen Besuch wert. Ein Spaziergang in der Nacht ist auch zu empfehlen. Tolle Atmosphäre. The old lanes in stone are always worth a visit. A walk at night is also recommended. Great atmosphere.
B	Brigitte Obritzberger on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ich bin aus der Wachau. Es ist im Sommer so wie auch jetzt ein schönes Gebiet zum wandern. Die Aussicht von den Weinbergen ist faszienierend. Gute Heurige für Stärkung sind vorhanden. Auch zum Radfahrern sehr geeignet. Also nichts als hin und die Natur in voller Pracht bewundern. I am from the Wachau. It is in the summer as well as now a nice area for hiking. The view from the vineyards is fascinating. Good wine taverns for strengthening are available. Also very suitable for cyclists. So just go there and admire nature in all its glory.

L	László Zoltán Karch on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr schöne Altstadt, teilweise noch Mittelalterlich mit verschiedenen Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Seitengassen sind besonders schön und ursprünglich. Wanderwege führen zu den Weinterrassen, lädt ein zum Verweilen und zum Wandern. Schöne Aussicht über die Donau und das Stift Göttweig. Uferpromenade ist der Startpunkt für die Wachau - Schifffahrt. Parkmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden jedoch schnell überfüllt. Gute Erreichbarkeit mit Fahrrad. Very nice old town, partly still medieval with various restaurants. Side streets are especially beautiful and original. Hiking trails lead to the Weinterrassen, invites you to linger and hiking. Beautiful view over the Danube and Göttweig Abbey. Waterfront is the starting point for the Wachau - shipping. Parking is available but quickly overcrowded. Easy access by bike.
