Sperling im Augarten - Obere Augartenstraße 1 Haupttor

After our rather expensive dinner we could not get out of Augarten with our car, upon calling the manager (who has the key to the gate) he told us to wait 45 minutes for him to come and open the gate. How appaling and obnoxious. Imagine paying 400 euros for dinner and then being told to wait 45 minutes to leave. Edit: also charging for tap water is a crime Edit 2: Since i can't reply to your comment. I ll answer your unsurprisingly rude and unprofessional message here. I also won't be replying in German in order to leave it clear for any tourist that wants to visit your missmanaged restaurant. 1. It is Herr Dr. Matić, not Herr Matić. 2. We were not 12 people, we were 8 people. Nice try. 3. Your incompetent waiters didn't tell us that the gate would be closing and there is no way out. 4. The other guests managed to leave because they didn't come by car and the pedestrian gate was open. Or maybe they've been to your restaurant before at this time, we have not and will not come again. 5. Our driver and his wife, who is pregnant, did not drink and none of us were drunk, thank you very much. You are right though, it would be a crime to drive drunk, remember that for yourself. 6. Tap water is a "product", wow. I have so much "product" at home. 7. Isn't it strange that most comments here are complaining about your service. I don't think there is anything else left to say, you've made yourself look very unprofessional.

Super cute place in an obviously great location (with the view of Augarten of course!) that has a big menu for all types of drinks and a bunch of very interesting and rather delicious side/finger foods that are a bit pricey but very beautifully presented. I was also very happy to see them using biodegradable straws which was such a pleasant thing to see their efforts to be more sustainable! ???

Chasing the staff to take the order, once again to pay our bill, our coffee and dessert almost thrown on the table by a waiter that was always in a hurry! And they were surprised at the end why I didn't choose to leave a tip! Unfortunately it happened again but I had a last hope that this would change... Never again!

It is the place for drinks (and some ordinary deserts) and for tasting food but not for eating because portions are small. I would recommend the owner to write the mass/volume per portion because approximately 75 ml of fish soup is almost nothing for 8 euros.

Lovely seating with great views over the well maintained park. Menu is varied to suit most taste buds. Food was good and service professional and friendly. Great drinks selection.

Although this place is a bit pricey, the food is really good. Reservation is highly recommended. There are some fun activities as well, kids always enjoy it so much. (at the events waiting time could take longer)

A nice lunch or afternoon drinks stop off when visiting the Augarten. Based on some reviews we were expecting some service issues, that however was quite the opposite. Service was friendly, prompt and always with a smile. There were superb chef inspired taste sensations through the whole menu. Will need to go back to try a few more!

Delicious food and good customer service! Regular menu is not available before noon. Wonderful interior! Edit: No Wifi available. Yesterday they did not allow indoor seating.
