Skischule Arlberg - Gästekindergarten - Kandaharweg 15

As an experienced skier all my life, I understand that big school setups can be a challenge to run. However, I've found in multiple dealings with this school (with my son who is under 5) the ski school to be hugely incompetent. The management is appalling. They don't create enough groups for the children (to save money I assume - despite us being here on some of the busiest weeks of the entire season), so my son was left hating skiing as he was scared (he got put in a group too fast and then given no support or help) and then bored (as he then got put in a toddler group and spent hours just stood on the snow). At pickup time, I came back to find a highly distressed and very unhappy child who now hated skiing (despite being able to ski blue runs on his own last season). I had to jump through hoops to get our money back, and now thankfully we are now using another ski school in St Anton, who is giving my son private instruction to allow my son to get all his confidence back (which he has thankfully done and is back to skiing happily down the mountain ). This is not my first bad experience with the blue ski school. I had an equally difficult time with them last season, but I wanted to give them another chance - I wish I hadn't! The reason I am not giving them 1 star, is that I expect that there are probably some very talented and lovely instructors who work for the company, so for adults who can express/stand up for themselves (unlike my little boy), they may well have a better experience. But their entire setup, way of running their business, how they communicate with the customer, and the way my son was treated leaves a lot to be desired. I will not be returning to give them my business despite coming regularly to St Anton each year.

We had different teachers. They are all good, I believe. It's just that with some you can have a conversation and with others you just learn skiing. As everywhere. The school is very well organized. I especially liked the kid's ski school. Would use them again.

The best experience in St.Anton. Our instructor Wolf is the best! Even though the snow conditions are not good, we had an incredible two days in St Anton, without it I wouldn't be able to. Simply amazing and I recommend it. As a beginner in snowboarding, I managed to pass on black tracks and improve my technique a lot. I hope to return soon to St.Anton and take classes again and enjoy the powder!

Did not offer a refund despite promising one. The adult beginners course also consists of walking up the mountain because the carpets/button lifts are "only for children". Highly advise you go somewhere else if you are a beginner.

There is a lot of good ski Instruktors, but as a worker for the ski school I can tell you that the we all are getting treated very badly. First of all we have a Hause Meister who Breaks every rule of privacy, (he will just go in to the rooms, and you will not get a chance to get clothes on or anything else). Then we also have a boss (Richard Walter) who will never take the workers side, he would rather fire them too look better him self. And if that wasn’t enough we get so little in payment, that it’s impossible to live here without having saved up a lot of money during the off-season. As a former worker of Skischule Arlberg I would never recommend it, i have heard so many good things about other ski schools that this can’t live up too, so if you want to be a ski instructor, don’t choose Skischule Arlberg, and if you do anyway, remember to take pictures of the room that you stay in when you come, because they will charge you for something that have been broken for years.

Booked 4 hours of private lessons a day in advance after a horrible first day on the slopes. Booking was easy and clear. I was paired with Andre who really took the time to teach me and remind me of some of the basic do’s and dont’s which I really needed reminding of. Gave me a lot of confidence which was lacking after the disastrous first day. So very happy with this experience. Andre was professional but also fun to talk to and hang out with. Experiences might be different for everybody but mine was great. Andre really saved my skitrip!

Customer service was disappointing. We arrived there the day before course start to find out where is the gathering point and which ski pass to get. We got exactly no information at the school office. The lady was not nice and although we spoke German she kept responding to us in English. She did not have any idea about the course and she would not advise which ski pass is required for the class. Although we signed up our child for red level for kids that already do parallel turns she was put into different group where they did snow plough instead. We asked twice to change group to hear ‘maybe tomorrow’. In fact it was a waste of money and a step back for our child. The teacher was speaking English and our child speaks German so it was not well organized either.

My 4yo spent her school holidays at the kids ski school - minis program. She absolutely loved it! She enjoyed taking the train rides, sing-alongs during the breaks, and the ski race! Her instructors are very dedicated and ensured that every kid in their group is taken care of. The supervisor did a great job grouping the kids into their respective levels and gave very clear information. We will definitely be back this Easter holidays!
