It was my first time with Sixt. The did not accept my EU driving licence because it is written in a non-roman alphabet. Thus they did not give me the car even if i pre-payed it. I understood their concerns but they could be more flexible since there is a proof of identification (i.e Passport, Credit Card). The behavior of the employee was rude and he wanted to get rid of the situation. He was not willing to help or to provide an alternative. Their competitors in the area are more flexible and friendly.

We have a business account with SIXT so I’ve had a couple of encounters with this branch. They have always been unfriendly and inflexible. In December, I returned the rental vehicle on time and clean - I have photographic evidence of both. I received a bill of over €500 in erroneous charges. One charge was for returning the car late which SIXT admitted was incorrect and reimbursed. The other charge was €250 for ‚special cleaning‘ which the branch refuses to reimburse despite photographic evidence to the contrary. Contacted Customer Service who were only partially helpful and then contacted our SIXT account manager who has not responded to my emails in over a week. I have taken the issue up with Visa and I am in the process of moving our business account to one of SIXTs competitors.

Reserved online for a 1-day rental. Arrived exactly upon closing time. After returning the car during the weekend, the agency additionally imposed a 50 EUR after hours charge, completely unannounced and not agreed. Furthermore, they applied the wrong check out mileage reading, even though I documented this with digital photos before and after. The customer service office of Austria has not responded after 3 weeks of phone calls and e-mails. Submitting a claim through MasterCard, which has ruled in my favor. This has not been an easy experience, and I will personally not return to rent from Sixt again.
