★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This aesthetically pleasing cast-bronze statue represents one of the most important scholars in Austrian history – Sigmund Freud, originator of psychoanalysis. Freud personally acted as a model for this statue by famous Oscar Nemon in 1936. Being larger than life size, the whole-body sculpture reveals astonishing details of Freud’s figure and facial expression. He almost seems to be analysing your inner oedipus complex straight away. Altogether this piece of art is an absolute recommendation when visiting Vienna!
