★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered online and didn't receive food for 1.5 hours just to find out after ringing that the driver is not available tonight ??... would have liked to try a new Indian restaurant in Vienna but after that experience wont order again... nor go there in person... cheers and bye bye ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shalimar seems to have closed now for months. Tried this weekend, and it still has the "Under renovation" sign but looks more like the owners have skipped town with broken glass out the front. It seems odd not to notify customers of the real situation, but here's hoping they will return as the Indian food is quite good for Vienna.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waste of money and time. It took more than one hour to get our food. After waiting more than one hour, what we got was just horrible. It was simply a joke in the name of Indian food. I was shocked, how someone can cook so bad. When I asked the person in-charge there, he told us that they don´t have any professional cook...I was like, why he dint inform us when we were ordering the food. Anyways at-least he told us the truth without any argument that's why I was not mad at him :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been a regular at another Indian restaurant of the same management in another town for 19 years and decided to check out Shalimar Vienna. I am happy to see there is a garden, a very pleasant one at that with plenty of space and trees. The decor is attractive. In the past months I have not had meat and felt good about it, so I wanted to see if there is any choice for vegetarians there. Well, there is. For whoever has not tried these, let me recommend their Paneer Tikka and the Dal Makhani. I found 18 vegetarian main dishes on the menu! Next time I might have something nice delivered as well, the homepage being user-friendly indeed and no need to click or scroll too much. Looking forward to the next chance to go!
