★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let me explain why 4 stars. We were on the top of Traunstein and had to wait for the rest of our group. You had 1 free table on the terrace. The very moment we told the waitress that there were four of us and that we wanted only a drink, the table wasn't free any more. But still, thanks to your staff, we were able to get our drinks and go to the lake bank to enjoy the damm good radler and the beautiful view over the lake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice restaurant with very nice food! The ambience is really lovely because it's calm as it's not directly in the center and the view on the lake is so beautiful :) We had a traditional Backhendl salad with styrian Pumpkinseed oil, sheep cream cheese as entrée and Malakov cake for dessert ?. I can also recommend their special "Spritzer" with plum. Waiters have been very friendly as well, so all in all a warm recommendation.

While I was visiting with my family, everyone there was exceptionally kind and really help add to the wonderful memories I now have of Gmunden. If given the opportunity, make sure you visit Hotel Hois'n Wirt!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous setting on Traunsee lake with the 1691m Traunstein as a backdrop... a nice trip suggestion is parking you car at the Gruenberg station, take the cable car up there, walk to Laudachsee (Ramsaualm Huette for a quick stop), head down Kaltenbachwildniss - trail ends at Hoisn (have another stop for coffee or food) and take the boat back to Gmunden! Fantastic day trip!
