Über 70 unglaublich detaillierte Modelle im Maßstab 1:20 geben eine gute Vorstellung von der damaligen Vielfalt der Schiffe. Das Museum ist innen fantastisch renoviert. Die Fassade außen wird wegen COVID erst 2024 fertig sein. A guided visit gave us deep insights into historical shipping on the Danube. Over 70 incredibly detailed 1:20 scale models give a good idea of the diversity of ships at the time. The museum has been fantastically renovated inside. The exterior facade will not be finished until 2024 due to COVID.

There is a very nice playground outside that is themed around ships and the marine world. Kids can even play on some old barges that have been modified so that they’re safe to play on.

Entry is free once a season with NÖ Card otherwise a small fee applies. The models inside were well built and exhibited items were interesting. When visiting this place, it is also recommended to walk to the ruin nearby. The locality itself is small, calm and scenic. 1h enough to visit while exploring places around Wachau.
