Jahrhunderts erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde. Seit 1790 wurde die Burg jedoch dem Verfall preisgegeben und von der Bevölkerung als „Steinbruch“ genutzt. Heute zeugen lediglich nur noch Reste von Ringmauern und Teile des schlanken hochaufragenden Rundturms mit einer Höhe von rund 20 Metern von der ehemaligen Veste die sich im Wald verborgen halten und daher auch nicht ganz einfach zu finden sind. Well hidden in the dense beech forest are the lush vegetation overgrown scanty remains of the former Waasen Castle, which was first mentioned in documents at the beginning of the 14th century. Since 1790, however, the castle was abandoned to decay and used by the population as a "quarry".
