★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der Rosskopf ist der höchste Berg im Katergebirge bei Bad Ischl. Leider interessiert das offensichtlich nicht wirklich jemand. Er hat kein Gipfelkreuz sondern nur einen Wegweiser mit Beschreibung, und dieser steht zudem nicht einmal an der richtigen Stelle lt. AV-Karte. Eine tragische Sache.
An sich ist die Tour hierhin sehr lohnend. Besonders die seilversicherte Variante über den Grat ist sehr empfehlenswert.
Ausdauernde können auch gleich das gesamte Katergebirge überschreiten.
 The Rosskopf is the highest mountain in the Kater Mountains near Bad Ischl. Unfortunately, that obviously doesn't really interest anyone. It has no summit cross but only a signpost with a description, and this is not even in the right place according to the AV map. A tragic thing.
In itself, the tour here is very rewarding. The rope-insured variant over the ridge is particularly recommended.
Persistent can also cross the entire Kater Mountains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der höchste Gipfel des Katergebirges ist leider nicht mit einem Gipfelkreuz geschmückt, bietet aber dennoch einen Rundblick vom feinsten. Dachstein, Totes Gebirge, alle wichtigen Gipfel der postalm, Wolfgangsee, Hallstätter See und und und.... man kann sich kaum sattsehen. Und dies auch noch relativ leicht erreichbar vom Gasthaus zur Wacht, wenn mehr als tausend Höhenmeter kein Problem darstellen. Juli 2019.
The highest peak of the Katergebirge is unfortunately not decorated with a summit cross, but still offers a panorama of the finest. Dachstein, Totes Gebirge, all important summits of postalm, Wolfgangsee, Hallstätter See and and and .... you can hardly get enough. And this also relatively easy to reach from the Gasthaus zur Wacht, if more than a thousand meters in altitude pose no problem. July 2019.
