The muttar paneer and samosa were good, but the lamb biryani was weird- a lot of tomato and not a traditional spice blend.

The food is good, but not spectactular. The people are really nice and the menu resembles what you'd find in most north-Indian restaurants in India. A good part of the price definitely is for the location and ambience, though. For instance, I don't think I would pay €25 for a Thali of that calibre again. If you are from India or are used to very authentic desi food, definitely temper your expectations. I ordered a (sweet) lassi, sheekh kebabs, and a mixed thali. The lassi was quite watery and didn't really taste like much. I was glad that they always ask how spicy you want your meal. I really don't like chili-spicy food so requested them to not put in too much chili. However, it felt like when I said that, they weren't sure what to do with flavours in general. While the sheekh kebabs themselves would have been delicious, they decided to coat the kebabs and the veggies with some sort of masala that I found extremely salty to the point that it drowned out all other flavours. It really was a case of "less is more", unfortunately. On the flipside, the chicken-in-red-gravy that was served with the Thali (I'm really unsure whether it was Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken or something else) barely tasted like anything. Same situation with the mixed-veg-thing that was served with the Thali. The salad was quite basic; I think a raita would have been a better idea instead of the raw salad that they served. The palak was relatively well balanced, though, and the naan was quite good (both in texture and in flavour). All in all, I'd say that if you want a nice ambience in a popular location, acceptable food, and don't mind shelling out for food, definitely check the place out. Otherwise, if you want very authentic food for a much more reasonable price, I definitely agree with the other reviewer somewhere here who mentioned Deewan. I've had the mixed-veg & palak over at Deewan and it's on a whole different level.

Nice entourage but for Indian food I would not go again. The food was tasty but not as expected and service was not very good. The masala tea was like 'pond water ' - water without flavor and only a dash of milk. Sorry.

Came in for the 2nd time for the lamb curry. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. Excellent service. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes to taste authentic Indian cuisine.

I dont think the 3.5 rating of this restaurant says half the story. I can only talk about the vegetarian food I had, Chana masala and Kadai Paneer, and it is extremely flavourful, even in the photos! I have tried a lot of Indian restaurants in Vienna with 4.5+ rating and they dont match, veg food for veg food purely speaking. The owner is this warm lovingly gentleman from Kashmir and treats his staff with the same respect that he gives his customers so you will thoroughly enjoy the service. They can spice it up as much as you want which as a true punjabi Indian I appreciate cause Indian food in Europe in general is adapted to European taste buds. But they can make it as you like and I appreciate that. Will come back without a doubt on my next visit even if Google gives them 3 stars. Ratings arnt always the be all and end all and one must be open to trying out some of these badly rated restaurants cause they can really surprise you :)

Tasty Indian food, but not authentic enough. We had Malai kofta, chicken Tikka masala, they tasted good. But the briyani was not good, overpowering tumeric taste. Broad choices of cocktails to choose from but they are not upto the standard. I have had better ones than this.
