★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent Goulash, not typically overcooked despite being late in the lunch session, the beef was great, flavours were big and we'll balanced and each meal included the monthly Austrian ration of vegetables - half a cherry tomato.
The cordon blah was... Well blah - It was well prepared, fresh and cooked perfectly, but could have done with vegetables or potatoes or... well anything else apart from chips.
Austria: You don't do chips well, you're terrible at it.
Just because the turks came and sell them with kebabs doesn't mean you can serve them with cordon bleu. Please just stop and make mashed potatoes instead. 5 stars for the Goulash.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most amazing surprises ever. We were on the look-out for food, later in the evening and ended up, spending over 4 hours in this warm and welcoming restaurant. Not only did the chef serve up two mouth-watering schnitzels, but the bar chef was as attentive as can be, always atop our next desire, served up fine liquor from Hungary and ended up chatting the night away with us - no, we were allowed to stay long after last-round and closing time, together with the locals, no - we were still served as well, allowed to take our time, have an amazing evening as a team ans ended up bonding with more than just our core family. We will never forget this experience, it was a once in a lifetime moment and we will forever be greatful, come back whenever we are close by and you can be quite sure we will recommend the Restaurant Goldenes Schiff to anybody heading for the general area of Gmunden. Come for the food and a good time, you will not be disappointed!
