I apologised to her initially that I can only speak English, she immediately pulled a long face and told me ‘No English, German only!’ Excuse me?? This is the city centre of Vienna where you get the most amount of tourist. You might as well put a board in front there writing ‘NO TOURISTS ALLOWED’. Luckily the young lady at the counter beside knows how to speak English and finally could answer my questions. I don’t know why people can be so proud being a monolingual. You are here to work, not to insult non-German speaking people. I wonder is it because I look like Chinese. That’s even worse.
H	Hanna Manuela on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was trying to send a parcel back to Australia, and as I don't speak German the lady serving was extremely rude and unhelpful, pretended not to speak English, and made it very difficult to figure out how to send a parcel back home. She then spoke to me in English what i should do to send the parcel back- vaguely at best!! Luckily second time around I had a nice lady serve me who didn't speak much English, but was super helpful. I noticed when lining up for the second time she was just being rude and horrible to both German speaking and non- German speaking people - shouldn't be in that line of work!

Then that *** assistant, when asked by me to repeat a few sentences in English, said she wasn't able to talk (while her colleague was speaking perfectly in English with another client). I repeat, they were extremely impolite, it seemed they didn't want to do their job.

I was polite enough to introduce myself in German to my fullest capability. I was greeted with disgust and told, no German no service, in English. These individuals give austrians a bad reputation of what are generally lovely people. Disgusting.

I have lived 5 years in Austria and never have I seen such disrespect for people mainly for the same reason (and probably the same lady) mentioned in other reviews. Normally I understand if a local doesn't speak English or prefers to speak German, but I have never seen such disrespect. In spite of my best efforts to communicate in my basic German, the lady was very and unnecessarily aggressive. I can attest that I have gotten the best of services in other post offices, so this is something they should find a solution to if it is mostly related to one employee.
