Die Häuser drängen sich am schmalen Strand, gleich hinter der Uferstraße geht es hügelaufwärts, die dort gelegenen Häuser bieten einen prachtvollen Blick über den See. Negativ zu bewerten ist der Lärm der Eisenbahn, die etwas erhöht entlang des Hügels hineingeschnitzt wurde, es fährt alle paar Minuten ein Zug durch, Tag und Nacht. Parkplätze sind auch Mangelware. Im Sommer ist es hier traumhaft schön, aber auch proppevoll. Nice town full of hotels, guesthouses and apartments, gastronomy without end. The houses are crowded on the narrow beach, just up the hill behind the quayside, the houses there offer a magnificent view of the lake. The noise of the railroad, which was carved a little higher along the hill, has to be rated negatively, there is a train every few minutes, day and night. Parking spaces are also in short supply. In summer it is wonderful, but also packed.

Hier halten Nahverkehrs- und Fernverkehrszüge nach Salzburg/Wien/Klagenfurt/Villach und auch nach Italien und Deutschland! Very good, modern and central train station in Pörtschach. Local and long-distance trains to Salzburg / Vienna / Klagenfurt / Villach and also to Italy and Germany stop here!
