Phoenix Restaurant - Gentzgasse 23

This is quite an original place with authentic food from north of Iran. My wife comes from this region of Iran and we both found the food tasty and quite authentic. The service is also excellent. We decided to go back there as soon as we visit Vienna again. Absolutely recommend it.

Very nice place. I recommend the chicken in a special red sauce.

Acceptable, if you like an Iranian semi-sour food cooked with pomegranate paste then here is a right place to visit in Vienna.

That was one perfekt restaurant. because when we say perfekt , thats meaning is everything is the best. very nice place, personaler is very very smile and kind . I can say about food, very very delicious

Update June 2021: As much as I like the proprietor of this restaurant, I have to admit the quality of food and the service has not been what it used to be. By my last visit, the rice was hard and not correctly cooked, not even talking about the attitude of the service when reminded that the tea served does not meet any standard, be it Persian or Austrian!!! I had to degrade the restaurant one star, and will be visiting on a later date to see, whether it was a one time incident or not. Living in Vienna, you have quite a choice of Persian restaurant to choose from. As an Iranian, I know most of them, many of the owners already friends for decades. However, I am utterly surprised to find an extraordinarily tasty persian restaurant specialized in the food from Caspian Sea region; Gilan. Phoenix restaurant grabs your taste senses in dimensions you didn't know about it!!! Specialized in fish recipies, they even have imported fish from Caspian Sea, using the richness of original herbs from the region, the food is authentic, homemade and high quality. The sevice is friendly, professional and competent. Phoenix resaurant is operated by two sisters, who you can feel their love to their foods and ingredients. It has been a long time that I haven't given 5 stars to a restaurant, but Phoenix restaurant truely earns it. Just was on Friday there! Don't miss trying "Baghalipolo" with Lamb, one of the finest outside of Iran!!! Update: I had today the pleasure to eat the Iranian national recipe: "Ghorme Sabzi", Gilan style!!! Superb!!!
