★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Mondseer Fragmente (oder Monseer Fragmente, früher auch Wiener Fragmente) sind eine Sammlung christlicher Schriften, die aus dem Westen des Frankenreiches stammen und im frühen 9. Jahrhundert im Kloster Mondsee ins Althochdeutsche (Altbairische) übertragen wurden. Das darin enthaltene Matthäusevangelium stellt die älteste erhaltene Übersetzung eines Bibelteils in ein althochdeutsches Idiom dar. Ferner ist darin die Übersetzung einer Schrift von Isidor von Sevilla enthalten, die für die Altgermanistik besonders wichtig ist, da es noch zwei ähnliche Schriften aus anderen Sprachregionen gibt. Trotz ihrer historischen und linguistischen Bedeutung sind die Mondseer Fragmente bis heute nicht abschließend erforscht und bleiben zumindest vorerst eines der ungelösten Rätsel der Germanistik.
The Mondseer fragments (or Monseer fragments, formerly also Viennese fragments) are a collection of Christian writings, which originate from the west of the Frankish kingdom and were transferred in the early 9th century in the monastery Mondsee into Old High German (Altbairische). The Gospel of Matthew contained therein is the oldest surviving translation of a part of the Bible in an Old High German idiom. It also contains the translation of a writing by Isidore of Seville, which is particularly important for the Old Germanic, as there are two similar writings from other language regions. Despite their historical and linguistic significance, the Mondseer fragments have not been exhaustively researched to this day and remain, at least for the time being, one of the unsolved mysteries of German studies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nettes schönes Gotteshaus, leider muss man erst durch einen Souvenirshop, das hat dann was von Kommerz. Passt nicht, ansonsten schönes Gebäude. Vor der Tür der schöne Weihnachtsbaum und die kleinen Buden, machen Lust auf Weihnachten.
Nice beautiful church, unfortunately, you have to go through a souvenir shop, which has something of commerce. Does not fit, otherwise beautiful building. At the door of the beautiful Christmas tree and the little booths, make you want to Christmas.
