★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When visiting Vienna, make sure to take a day and simply walk from platz to platz. You will stumble upon the most amazing buildings, statues, churches, museums and gardens. I spent a day doing exactly that and found it very rewarding. The architecture of the many historical buildings in Vienna struck me as rather similar which is why having gps and Google maps on my phone which proved invaluable when navigating building to building and trying to identify the buildings.
