Wir sind ganz unverhofft zu einer Führung gekommen. Von der Kirche über die Galerie über die Mission und Gambrium bis zur Krypta ist alles top in Schuss und wirklich schön.
We unexpectedly came to a guided tour. From the church to the gallery, mission and gambrium to the crypt, everything is in top condition and really beautiful.

I've loved this place since my childhood...St.Gabriel is for me personally exactly the place where God is at home...many don't know that there is a huge playground right next to it. And you can go on a family trip in the middle of a city can.Thank you ??

It was to become the central training house of the then 14-year-old missionary society. Thus, until 1914, a large-scale building with a powerful, the Holy Spirit consecrated church . As a training house with a theological college, it quickly became a center of scientific research in the field of ethnology and missionary science. There was also a printing house and a retreat and education center. In 1925, around 600 brothers, priests and students lived in St. Gabriel. Some 3,000 missionaries have received their training since 1889 in St. Gabriel. The social upheavals of the past 40 years and the resulting decline in new talent have led to profound cuts. The printing house had to be closed and the university to stop its proper teaching. Today St. Gabriel continues to be the central house of the Steyler missionaries in Austria and serves the following tasks: Headquarters of the Provincial Government The management and administration of the Central European Province is carried out by this House. Journal apostolate The magazine apostolate St. Gabriel publishes the family magazine "City of God", the children's magazine "Weite Welt" and "PICO" and the "Michael Calendar". Some 6,500 sponsors distribute magazines throughout Austria.
