From the family behind 2* Steirereck im Stadtpark Meierei is the more casual offshoot with waterside views, great service and classic recipes created with top-quality Ingredients by the skilled hands of Chef Heinz Reitbauer and staff. Open at 08h00 on weekdays and an hour later Saturday with three services daily, the menu shifting seasonally, guests entering Meierei will find a similar color palate to the gourmet Restaurant upstairs while a terrace facing Stadtpark illuminates the room through floor-to-ceiling glass. Alongside the Wienfluss with over 100 matured Cheeses and a bountiful larder, plus Bread from the Steirereck Bakery, lunch for most will occur in three courses, an Appetizer of Beef Consommé nearly so complex as Reitbauer’s previously tasted Wedding Soup while “Fish Sticks” of Trout are crunchy and delicious alone or dragged through creamy Currants. Overly-generous with portions despite a Bib Gourmand pricepoint, the tally for two under €100 without Alcohol, Entrees include a tender Pork Chop grilled beneath Hummus and fried bits while traditional Veal Beuscherl picks up lots of flavor from Offal that is mellowed by Marjoram and hearty Dumplings. Encourage to order Streudel fresh from the oven at 13h00, but wise enough to request Kaiserschmarrn as Pork and Veal were served, choosing the better of Meierei’s Desserts comes down to personal preference, though the respective toppings of Housemade Vanilla Curd and Plum Jam should be added liberally.

This restaurant has a nice location in the park and a view. The menu consists of some interesting versions of the Viennese Cuisine. A nice place to familiarize with Austrian cheese and wines. Relaxing atmosphere in a modern architectural space, and friendly service too. This Bib Gourmand place is a kind of little brother of two star Steirereck located upstairs of the building.

I am two-minded about my experience as it had some positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, the Gulasch was good and ok price. However, the Marillenknödel was almost a disaster. It didn’t have a fruit (but jam, although we are in the season for Marillen), one couldn’t taste the Topfen and it cost 9.50€! The menu was absolutely misleading as it even mentioned 15 minutes waiting time - so I expected freshly made Knödel with fruits. Last but not least, a restaurant with this reputation should watch the cleanness of its bathrooms

What a delight. By far, one of the best places to eat in Vienna. The beef tartare was mind blowing and the Viennese Schnitzel outstanding. Bessi and his colleagues created a unique experience and make you feel at home from the moment you enter. A must visit for everyone who loves excellent food and personal service. Thank you

Can totally see this place is perfect for lunch, nice view over the canal. At night the lighting in the restaurant -for us- was too full on which makes it quite cold, not cosy nor chique. Restaurant was half empty and staff wasn’t very busy, despite lots of ‘reserved’ signs on empty tables. Good food and wine for which I would recommend the place. Take max. 4 courses and you’ll be stuffed, just as the waiter suggested.

Best breakfast I have ever had. The restaurant has a really nice park view. On the menu it has a variety of dishes and milk on offer. Particularly I loved how some of the dishes are deceptive looking. The soft boiled egg is not sprinkled with crumbles. The ham is not sprinkled with grated cheese. I won’t spoil the surprise for you.

Surpassingly good. Unfortunately not fully happy. Assessing the food, it was really good. We had the 4-course dinner menu with the wine selection. The "Blunzentascherl" were terrible, the rest was really tasty and nicely assorted. The wines were often forgotten, which got really annoying because we needed to ask 2 times at least. This is - for this class of a restaurant - unacceptable, because you pay for it. Anyway, the waiters were friendly but in a Viennese way. High class dinner and service was noticed but with imperfections. The cheese platter though was an absolute dream and I highly recommend to order it.
