I walked with my wife into the store. I wanted to buy a Miele washing machine and a Miele dryer together with the installing accessories. I had already searched online and decided which models I need. Luckily when I walked in, both the washing machine and the dryer were in the display and were setup the way I wanted. So all remaining was couple of question about the delivery details and required accessories. I waited for few minutes till one of the staff passed by so I stopped him. I told him in German that I do not speak good German and asked if he can speak English. He answered that he couldn’t but will find a colleague that can. He walked away, then stopped by a colleague in a full formal suit and name tag. They spoke for quite few minutes then the man in the suit came to me and asked in German how he could help. I replied back in German asking if he could speak English and he said yes but he will not! I told him that I do not speak good German yet, but his reply was that since we are in Austria I must speak the language. And for over 10 minutes he lectured us, non stop, in German, that since we decided to live in Austria then we should speak only German and that it is our duty to go learn before we go to the street and deal with people, and that although he could speak English he would not. He would not stop even when my wife, who can speak better German than I do, told him that I am learning German but not yet able to run a full conversation in German. He instead told her to translate my questions and his answers instead. And when she refused to do so he just walked away!! I am not really sure what this behavior should be called. Is it some sort of cultural discrimination? I am not sure. But I am pretty sure that I will never step a foot again in that store again. Although another colleague could help and answer all my questions in English but I had already lost my desire to pay a cent in a place where I felt disrespected. I bought the devices I need this morning directly from Miele store where the salesman was very cheerful and helpful and did his best to help although his English was not good. I wish they send their guy to him to learn how a salesman should treat his customers instead of lecturing them like pupils in a class!

Used to have a good range of products to see directly, but has now been taken over by Media Markt and there are signs the product range is already being reduced. On the plus side you can buy #Xiaomi phones here at great prices.

Being that I am not an Austrian native, I found the staff at Saturn for the most part friendly... Especially in the Computer, telephone department. Saturn has a wide range of products and appliances for daily use.. I find that their prices were fair and comparable to what is the going rate for various "like" products. The customer service dept. should however be upgraded... My opinion is their seems to be a lot of help behind the desk however, no one really knows what they are doing... At least that is the feeling... It is always backed up with stoned faced dissatisfied customers... having to wait aimlessly in line...just to be told virtually nothing... Suggestion: Get people (staff) who actually know what the y are doing in and how to diffuse irate customer problems... Always find a system which eliminates the wait time to 15 minutes tops... Cashiers at the front could smile at leas a little... would be nice... But all in all, Saturn is a really good place to shop...

Asked for Galaxy Watch 4 in black. They sold me green one. Had to come back the same day to change it for the right model. After 3 weeks the watch got faulty (visible metal oxidation of body composition sensor, the body composition measurement stopped to work). After two weeks I've got a message from MediaMarkt Haid that my watch can be picked up. I went there - they just got a delivery and Service desk has been blocked by new products. Arrogant employee informed he, that he would have to go around the store to pick my watch and remained seated. After arguing that I did not come to store for nothing, he looked in to computer and informed me, that my watch has been already picked up by somebody. Another argument. He called some colleague. She looked again into the computer and informed me that the watch is indeed there, but no repair has been done, since two repair shops did not find any failure... the stuff has been extremely unfriendly and arrogant. I left leaving the watch there and filed a complaint. Within 2 days I've got a call from Haid - no apologies, no sorry. The girl on the phone told me that "she does not know how that's possible, but I am going to get a new watch. I should come to pick it up". I told her to keep the watch and also my money. I will never ever enter any MediaMarkt store again in my life. She said "Wie Sie wollen". It's unbelievable how arrogant and incompetent MediaMarkt stuff is. I have already ordered a new watch directly from Samsung online store, yes -that means paying twice... And that's what you should do also - avoid MediaMarkt and buy your devices elsewhere. The stuff here has no idea what they are selling, they have no manners, they are unfriendly and rude and their repair service is a bad joke.
