★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Makartsteg is a simple pedestrian Bridge across the River Salzach, just west of Staatbrucke Bridge. The bridge is named in honour of the19th century Salzburg painter Hans Makart.
This is another one of those bridges that's attracted the centuries tradition of lovers inscribing a lock with their initials and affixing the lock to the bridge. Whether you see that as a romantic gesture or vandalism is up to you.
From the bridge there's lovely views of the river and of course one of the major landmarks of the city the Fortress Hohensalzburg.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bridge of love and lovers. I was exited by seeing this many love locks and thousands names on them. By the way, there are a couple of lock that got only some numbers on them. I hope someone can decode them and find the mystery of those loves.
So cute. I recommend to see and spend time on this bridge.
