★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gastein valley itself is place of unusual beauty. At least this is what you think until you reach the point, where the road ends and only railway tunnel seems to be the option to get further. However much better option is to open your eyes and heart, follow a sound of watterfalls and find small forrest road heading to canyon-like valley. There you will realize you found more than you have been looking for. Pure magic. Fairytale house Marienstein - cosy place in the middle of woods, waters, stones and mountines. At the same time you will find yourself close enough to Bad Gastein civilization and all its attractions, if you happen to feel overhelmed by quiet, peacefull and vital energy of House Marienstein :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place in the middle of woods but still close to the village and slopes. Great both for summer (hike & bike) and winter adventures (backcountry skiing/SNB). Very friendly staff makes you feel like home. And you can book the whole “Haus” as well!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's the best place you can choose to stay in while around Gastein! The house is in amazing location, in woods yet close to town and it's great equipped! Janek, Theresa and Lola (the cute dog) are the best housemasters and will make your stay really comfy! I certainly can recommend this place for stay in winter and in summer or all year round!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely stunning place in the middle of woods with waterfalls and huge rocky mountains surrounding the house. On top of that, Janek and Theresa are the most warmhearted hosts in whole Austria. This place is a must visit if you are heading towards Bad Gastein area

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely amazing place in the middle of the wild mountains. Super friendly hosts who recommended us great bike trails and hikes in the area, that we wouldn’t discover on our own. I am looking forward to check Marienstein during the winter as well!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice and picturesque cottage on the brink of the national park. Hosts Thesi&Janek are very friendly, welcoming and always down to share information about the best hikes, climbs and trails in the surrounding area. Very recommended, will come again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the best time at Marienstein. The surroundings are breathtaking, much to explore. The lodge is situated at the end of a road in the forest, it's magical. Hosts Janek and Thesi are very welcoming and helpful, they have great tips to check out. The room was very clean, quiet and had everything you need. Great bed, shower etc. But most of all: the ambience just looking out of the window in the forest. If you have the chance: visit this place, you will not be sorry.
