★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Proprio alle spalle del caratteristico mercato della Benedikterplazt (da visitare!) sorge questa chiesa cattolica costruita nel XVII secolo, ma poi ampiamente rimaneggiata a causa di un incendio.
L’interno della chiesa, con volta a botte e richiami barocchi, ricorda molte altre chiese della Carinzia ed austriache, anche se l’altare maggiore, alcune opere e statue, il pulpito e l’organo sono di un certo pregio.
Sono presenti anche tombe e lapidi commemorative come era in uso fare nelle chiese nei secoli scorsi.
Non è un capolavoro, ma se avete tempo abbinate la visita della chiesa…magari ad uno spuntino al vicino mercato della Benedikterplazt!
Just behind the characteristic market of the Benedikterplazt (to visit!) Stands this Catholic church built in the seventeenth century, but then extensively remodeled due to a fire.
The interior of the church, with a barrel vault and Baroque references, recalls many other Carinthian and Austrian churches, although the main altar, some works and statues, the pulpit and the organ are of some value.
There are also tombs and commemorative plaques as it was used to do in churches in past centuries.
It is not a masterpiece, but if you have time, combine the visit of the church ... maybe with a snack at the nearby Benedikterplazt market!
