★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was impressed when I saw this church. From the rear it slighty resembles Rosslyn Chapel. The surprise was absolute...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful church, with shiny glazed tiles on the roof.
Take care it is normally locked to prevent theft, but you can arrange to borrow the key from the Pfarrer. Mostly the services are held in the warmer Kapelle in the middle of the village.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice church, sacred and important historical place for Hungarians. The central part of the church dates back to 1026, it was built in Romanesque style. The founder of this church was the first Christian king of Hungary, Stephen I. The area belonged to the early Hungarian kingdom until 1052. The church is very close to a 16 m high, 80 m wide pile (tumulus). According to a historical hypothesis, the military leader Arpad, head of seven tribes, who led the Hungarians into the Carpathian Basin in 896, he pulled the western border of the new country until this place. He may have died here due to an injury he suffered in a battle that was very close to this place in July 906
