A colony of storks just outside the village at the castle. There is also a lookout and observation at the pond. A slight parking problem is possible.
B	Branislav Neborásek on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zaujímave miesto na krátku zastávku na bicykli. Miesto kde sa dajú pozorovať vzácne operence. Na konci krátkej cestičky je vyvýšená rozhľadňa. Odporúčam mať menší ďalekohľad. Interesting place for a short stop on the bike. A place where rare surgeries can be observed. At the end of the short path is an elevated lookout tower. I recommend having a smaller binoculars.
C	Christian Haag on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Storchenkolonie befindet sich in den wunderbaren March-Auen an der Grenze zur Slowakei, gleich im Anschluss an den Schlosspark des Schlosses Marchegg. Man kann hier von den markierten Gehwegen und Beobachtungspunkten die zahlreichen Storchenpaare in ihren Nestern, bei der Nahrungssuche und im Flug beobachten. Was mich immer wieder bei Naturbeobachtungen stört und vermutlich auch die Fauna, das sind rücksichtslose Besucher, die laut sprechen, telefonieren, wild herumhüpfende lärmende Kinder, helle Kleidung! Für die Storchenbeobachtung empfehlenswert: Anti-Gelsen-Mittel, Regenschutz, Fernglas, Kamera mit Teleobjektiv Brennweite 400 mm ideal wären 600 mm! The stork colony is located in the wonderful March floodplains on the border with Slovakia, right after the castle park of Marchegg Castle. From the marked sidewalks and observation points, one can observe the numerous pairs of storks in their nests, foraging for food and in flight. What annoys me again and again when observing nature and probably also the fauna are ruthless visitors who speak loudly, make calls, wildly bouncing noisy children, bright clothes! Recommended for stork observation: anti-gels means, rain protection, binoculars, camera with telephoto lens focal length 400 mm ideally 600 mm!
B	B.C.K. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Doporucujem navstivit toto male rakuske mestecko (35 km od Bratislavy) v ktorom sa nachadza prirodna rezervacia (svetoveho fondu na ochranu prirody) moravske luhy. Na zaciatku rezervacie su unikatne hniezdicka (najvacsie v strednej europe) bociana bieleho. Vacsina hniezd je atypicky postavena na stromoch a mozu dosahovat hmotnost aj niekolko sto kilogramov. Da sa tu absolvovat niekolko nenarocnych tur (3 zakladne okruhy) od cca 3 km az do 9 km nedotknutym lesom. Na zaciatku tychto okruhov sa nachadza zamok Marchegg (Schloss Marchegg) postaveny v 13. storoci ako vodny hrad (v dobe baroka bol prestavany na polovnicky zamok). I recommend visiting this small Austrian town (35 km from Bratislava) in which there is a nature reserve (world fund for nature protection) Moravian meadows. At the beginning of the reservation there are unique nests (the largest in Central Europe) of a white stork. Most nests are atypically built on trees and can weigh several hundred kilograms. It is possible to go on several undemanding tours (3 basic circuits) from about 3 km to 9 km through untouched forest. At the beginning of these circuits is the Marchegg castle (Schloss Marchegg) built in the 13th century as a water castle (in the Baroque period it was rebuilt into a half castle).
