★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die neuen Beobachtungshides sind sehr willkommen, der große Teich ist allerdings weniger lohnend als vor einigen Jahren und die Teichen bei der Beringungsstation sind auch weniger ergiebig geworden.
The new observation hides are very welcome, but the big pond is less rewarding than it was a few years ago and the ponds at the ringing station have also become less productive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jetzt sind die Grau- und Blässgänse wieder aktiv. Sowohl auf den Becken Richtung Beringungsstation als auch nördlich der B49 Richtung Grenzübergang. Dort machen sie sich schon über die keimende Wintergerste her. Vieleicht übernachten sie in ein paar Tagen im Kühlteich beim Beobacthtungsturm. Wär nett zu beobachten.
Seit 2 Tagen sind zwischen Hohenau und Hausbrunn auch ein paar Kiebitze aufgetaucht und seit gestern ungefähr 100 Stare. Das Frühjahr ist anscheinend schon da.
Am 7.3. war ein Pärchen Schellenten an den Anladebecken beim nördl. Beobachtungsplatz.
Now the gray and white-fronted geese are active again. Both on the basin towards the ringing station and north of the B49 towards the border crossing. There they are already attacking the germinating winter barley. Maybe they'll spend the night in the cooling pond at the observation tower in a few days. Would be nice to watch.
A few lapwings have also appeared between Hohenau and Hausbrunn for 2 days and since yesterday about 100 starlings. Spring seems to be here already.
On March 7th was a pair of goldeneyes at the loading basin at the northern observation point.

Very nice place. Ideal for children to watch waterfowl. The booths are freely accessible and the texts are also in Slovak.
