Wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben sehr viel über die Herstellung der verschiedenen Käsesorten erfahren. Das Käse Wissen von Klaus scheint unerschöpflich zu sein. Danke für den interessanten Tag! Today we were at the cheese course on the Straniger Alm. We received a very friendly welcome and learned a lot about the production of the different types of cheese. Klaus' cheese knowledge seems to be inexhaustible. Thanks for the interesting day!

Die Gegend ist wunderschön. IST SEHR EMPFELENSWERT...??? A wonderful day with lots of sunshine. Unfortunately the cows are already back in the valley. Food and drink is good. Staff is very friendly. The area is beautiful. IS VERY RECOMMENDED ... ???

L'ho chiesto io freddo ? al posto di una birra ? Luogo raggiungibile con strada sterrata ( impegnativa dall'Italia ) più curata dal versante austriaco Revisited version of strudel and cappuccino .. amazing ricotta and apple cream ... and a large glass of malga milk with cold mocha coffee .. really great !! I asked for it cold ? instead of a beer ? Place accessible by dirt road (challenging from Italy) more cared for from the Austrian side

Startpunkt für wundervolle Tagesbergtouren in den Karnischen Alpen Straniger Alm - be sure to take cheese with you. The Straniger Alm can be reached from the valley via the Almweg approx. 11 km. Starting point for wonderful day hikes in the Carnic Alps

La strada per arrivarci non è delle più facili ( almeno dalla parte austriaca), perché per salire bisogna attraversare un fitto bosco su di una strada sterrata lunga circa 11 km, a tratti ripida. Si può optare per parcheggiare l'auto nel bosco e poi fare un pezzo a piedi ( ciò che abbiamo fatto noi), tanto la gran parte del percorso è all'ombra e comunque fattibile da parte di tutti ( anche bambini). Arrivati su, il panorama è mozzafiato! Il rifugio è veramente molto bello, quasi tutti i tavoli occupati e nell'aria c'è un profumino di cibi della tradizione austriaca. Noi abbiamo ordinato degli squisiti kaserspatzle, una wienersnitzel buonissima e per finire degli ottimi kaisersnarrn. Il tutto bagnato da un ottima birra! Gestione familiare, tutti sorridenti e felici! Prezzi molto buoni! Quindi sicuramente ci ritornerò, magari provando a passare dal lato italiano, così potrò valutare quale sia il versante migliore da percorrere. Ps all'esterno del rifugio c'è un piccolo spaccio di prodotti fatti su nella malga adiacente dalla famiglia ( salumi vari, formaggio, burro ecc). Che dire, da provare! Fantastic retreat located in a lovely spot! The road to get there is not the easiest (at least on the Austrian side), because to go up you have to cross a dense forest on a dirt road about 11 km long, sometimes steep. You can opt to park your car in the woods and then walk a bit (what we did), as much of the route is in the shade and in any case feasible for everyone (even children). Once up, the view is breathtaking! The refuge is really beautiful, almost all the tables are occupied and in the air there is a smell of traditional Austrian foods. We ordered delicious kaserspatzle, a very good wienersnitzel and finally some excellent kaisersnarrn. All bathed in an excellent beer! Family run, all smiling and happy! Very good prices! So I will definitely come back, maybe trying to switch to the Italian side, so I can evaluate which is the best side to go. Ps outside the refuge there is a small shop of products made up in the adjacent hut by the family (various cold cuts, cheese, butter, etc.). What can I say, to try!

Auch gute Portionen. Die Bedingung war sehr nett und hilfsbereit Very good food. Much is produced and manufactured on site. Accordingly, it tastes really good. Snack plates and Kaiserschmarren were great. Good portions too. The condition was very nice and helpful
