Ice Caves Tour Werfen

Great tour with lots too see

Ok everyone, this place is gorgeous! My husband and I were not aware of the steep hike that we would undertake to reach the entrance of the the ice caves. You can take a gondola up to the halfway point however from there on you hike to the mouth of the cave. It’s a pretty steep hike and we were not prepared. We had on keds and boat shoes... bad decision. Although the hike was a bit strenuous, we thoroughly enjoyed it and fell in love with the views. Please bring water, a jacket since the caves are basically an ice box, hiking shoes/sneakers, pee before you leave the gondola area (There are no public restrooms up there) but most importantly bring a external battery for your phone. You will want to take a lot of photos!! The tour was great! Our guide was witty, funny and engaging. It’s a fast paced tour with rarely any stopping. So remember to bring your snacks :). Still highly recommend!!
