The train itself is good, really drives every few minutes. Only the price is really too high! We wanted to see the Cloud 9 iglu Bar on the Seegrube and have a coffee there for lunch. But with a fare of 62 € for 2 people, we decided against it.

Tolle Standseilbahn, diese aller 15 Minuten fährt. Keine Vorkommnisse.
Great funicular, this every 15 minutes drives. No incidents. Even with the funicular itself you get to the beautiful Hungerburg station, where there is a great bar to relax. From there you can also continue by bus. There is something for everyone and in every direction. The fare was reasonable.

Was soll das?
Wow, then you buy the ticket online, pay by credit card and still have to stand in line and redeem the online voucher at the cash register. What shoud that?

Interesting train. Unfortunately not to be used in the IVB and VVT network, although the VVTHotline says it is! Note for people afraid of heights: The railway is very steep and sometimes very high. At the Zoo station, the elevator is fully glazed and the stairwell is open. The zoo and the Hungerburg can alternatively be reached by those afraid of heights with the J for the Hungerburg and W for the zoo from the market

We rode the funicular from Innsbruck, close to the hofgarten and Congress building. The stations in Innsbruck and Hunderburg are easy to spot with their interesting cloud-like roofs. The Innsbruck pass covers a single return ride on the funicular and the cable cars further up if you desired. There are two stops in between, the Aplenzoo and Lowenhaus, just across the river. It was quite a nice ride up but it is generally only standing especially when it's busy. The stations also have elevators for prams and wheelchairs and the cars at the front and back look to have a larger space to accommodate them. Definitely worth a ride if you're there, and going even further up if you can. The pistes are accessible from the cable car in Hungerburg. There are nice views up there up clouds can make it hard to see. Either way it is worth a visit.
