Spent a week in Hotel Rothirsch. We had booked a family room but due to some wrong booking we were shifted to two double rooms. Initially it was disappointing but then it was OK. The rooms were neat and clean, decorated in traditional wooden style. The cupboards and drawers are definitely old and require repair but that doesn't disturb u much. Bathrooms fine too....with towels, hair dryer and soap. The hotel is simple and nice with total old style wooden decoration. Its mainly a skiarea, the hotel rite at the foot of two cablecar stations. The hotel location is perfect for little trips around the valley. The famous Geisterberg adventure park is 5mins walk from the hotel. Below is a huge playground for kids and then u can buy the tickets of the cable car up to the park. A wonderful day activity for kids and whole family. Little sees and lakes are also well connected within 40 to 50mins drive from the hotel for day trips like zell am see, oztelsee etc. Just behind the hotel, few mts. up the hill is a wonderful bow and arrow hunt adventure and many more things. The hotel has a room for kids with nintendo wi and two big boxes full of lego, some stuff toys and movies. Its good but we personally did not find it very interesting. The terrace of the hotel with a beautiful view of the valley and 2 hammock chairs were more interesting for us and the kids. Its awesome to sit there in the evening with lights around u and sip ur favourite drink. The drinks are throughout the day available in the restaurant, in AI everything included including beer and wine. There is a bar for special choices. :D The breakfast buffet, salad buffet and deserts are very good. The coffee and red wine are also very nice. Near the reception there is a cupboard with board games and books for kids and adults, sadly most of it is in Danish but we found some games in German too. The hotel staff is very pleasant and helpful and so is the manager(Jakob). He is a very warm and jolly person. He gave us daily ideas as to where we can head off with kids and all his recommendations were top!! I noticed that he took personal care and gave attention to each and every new and exisiting family always which really is a star point in him. The staff speaks Danish, German and English. The rooms are cleaned everyday. Free parking, Free wlan. Sauna and wellness room. The little hitch i felt and the reason of one star less was the mashup of rooms but I have to mention and appreciate their effort to make it up with a lovely bottle of wine of chocolates :), the dinner option for vegetarians is not so great and the kids room and activities can be made more interesting especially since its a kid friendly and family category hotel. The food can definitely be worked upon especially the veg. However if we ever plan to visit Alpendorf again....Hotel Rothirsch will be again our choice.

The hotel is Danish, all the staff are Danish and speak Danish. Do not expect anything else. The rooms are good enough for the price but not lavish or overly comfortable, they include a bed and a wardrobe apart from the bathroom with a shower. For some unknown reason the toilet is in a separate room from the sink.... The food is pretty good but the vegetarian alternatives are really limited. There is a separate room to store skis and the slopes are very close (2-3 min walk to the closest lift) Overall I am pleased with the experience (though one would wish that the staff were more prone to speak English).
