Hotel Restaurant Stefanihof

Wonderful view, it's separated from the lake only by its cost-free parking lot

For the Eddy Merckx Classic cycling race we had booked a hotel that was centrally located to the start and finish line. Unfortunately the second we stepped into the door it was a disappointment. Upon arrival I asked a guy standing around where the reception is. Only then I realized he was working there. Rudly he responded and said here of course. Now, the reception does not look like a reception usually does. It's a little table, no more than that. This of course would not be a problem, just the way the receptionist replied and gave us an attitude and unwelcoming impression. The disappointment continued when we were told that the check out time was 11am. I replied, sorry but could you please check I have specifically booked late check out until 4pm. His reply: I don't know anything about it. You have to ask Mrs. Minar when she is back. Continuing with wrong breakfast times and more attitude and unfriendly behaviour we went to the room to drop our things. Later in the evening we met Mrs. Minar who then confirmed that we did have late check out until 3pm, not 4pm as per my eMail confirmation but it didn't really matter. We were then also given the correct breakfast times. In the evening we had dinner at the restaurant as unfortunately we had booked a half board arrangement. Dinner was ok but the atmosphere was very stressed. In general, the above mentioned guy and Mrs. Minar kept running around and replying in stressed manners made a weird and not very comfortable impression. Lastly, the following day my wife came back to the room before me to take a shower. Obviously housekeeping was not aware that we had booked late check out. They just went into the room without knocking the door. Upon my return I crossed ways with the earlier mentioned employee again. I had just finished the cycling race and was about to go upstairs when he told me that the room is needed for another booking. It was 1.20pm! This was enough and I told that his attitude was unacceptable. This must have been one of the worst stays ever. What a disappointment. Even if this was the last available hotel room, I would never take it again.

My husband and I booked one night for the bike event. We contacted the hotel extra for late check-out which should be till 16:00. From the beginning, the male receptionist was quite rude. He gave us a hard time with late check-out which we had already paid and the wrong time for breakfast. Also the housekeeper came into our room without knocking TWICE. It was annoying us enough. Fortunately the other staff are really nice and helpful, but again, his attitude is not acceptable.

I had the greatest time in Salzburg! And Hotel Stefanihof was a big part of this experience. They have the most friendly staff and the best food ever. They rooms are very clean and have an amazing view! My friends and I are definitely coming back!

Had a family meal at this exceptional hotel restaurant. The chief Simon and the team give you a great range of excellent food. The outdoor eating area is a bonus. Not too expensive, especially compared with other restaurants in Fuschl.

We had dinner at the terrace restaurant. The meal was served quickly, it was nice, tasty, fresh. We ate glutenfree meals, the waitress knew what it means, we could choose from more meals. The grilled salmon trout fillet, the grilled meats with potato and grilled vegetables were all perfect. It was nice to be there and eat safely glutenfree meals.

Rating for the hotel. One friendly young member of staff at breakfast, very helpful. The owners were a nightmare. On arrival I thought I had committed a crime judging by their suspicious questioning which was a shame. Clearly they thought my german wasn't that great as they then began voicing their suspicions in front of me, bizarly implying I was secretly trying to visit my girlfriend rather than just joining my family who had checked in earlier. Interior was clean and comfortable if a bit old fashioned but again the owners seemed to randomly shout at guests children for running inside (which they were but not in a dangerous way) or being too loud (which they weren't). Breakfast was basic but respectable, nothing amazing. Good location. Restaurant food was apparently good according to my wife which is the only saving grace. Could have been great with different owners

We stopped here for lunch after hiking half way around Lake Fushl. We both had vegan burgers and were not disappointed. The food was great and service accommodating to us as non-German speakers.
