Hotel Post | 3-Sterne | Westendorf - Dorfstraße 11

The location of the traditional hotel, in the middle of Westendorf, is perfect. It is only 5 minutes walk to the ski track, restaurants and bars. If you do not want to walk you can take a taxi for 7 euro to any place in the town(max. 4 persons). The integrated ski store and bar are also a great benefit. The choice on breakfast is not very big, but the quality is good and price is low(10 euro per person). The restaurant have great meals for a normal price(20 to 30 euro per main meal). The staff is nice and helpful. The temperature setting in the rooms and corridors are too high, especially when it is -10C outside. The hotel rooms are nice and cleaning is good, but at the old part the rooms contains too much damage and some dirty places(like fungus in the shower knob and shower screen). Unfortunately at the check-out we came to a discussion about some damages which occurred by a self closing door inside the hotel room. At some rooms at the old part of the hotel, the door of the bathroom close by an automatic door closer because the door opens to outside the bathroom. This can be really unsafe during the night and during showering, which unfortunately lead to an accident with serious injury. Luckily the management covered the damage costs, but the safety in the hotel rooms should be reviewed again.

The hotel is a great place to stay for a family walking holiday. The staff are very friendly and speak English. The food is good (would recommend the a la carte menu if you can be a bit of a picky eater like me but the set menu did normally always have a dish for everyone) the cleaning staff were friendly and tidy rooms to perfection. The rooms have great views and are nice and spacious with nice bathrooms and a tv where you can see what the weathers like on the mountains or to watch normal tv. The hotel is in a great place where a market takes place every week just outside as well as cable cars about 5 mins down the road to get up into one of the local mountains!

We arrived as a family of 4 just before 6pm for dinner. The restaurant has a lovely garden which the children enjoyed playing in and were kept entertained. We placed our order at this time and were left to wait until 7.20pm when the same waitress came over and I stated we had not received our food. She said the order didn't go through and placed the order again and went off. Again nothing received until I had to chase our order inside the restaurant at 7.50pm. The man was apologetic and asked who had placed the order, we again waited 15 minutes for our food. I understand restaurant's get busy however even the locals noticed we were left for 2 hours with a 2 young children and no food or real explanation as to why we were left. This was not acceptable. We were offered a drink at the end after we had paid with a tip however the dining experience left us feeling very uncomfortable and eager to leave. A lovely area but I will not dine at this hotel again or recommend to families who have small children as you will be left with annoyed hungry children and lack of a meal for a prolonged amount of time.

Really great food. I just love their Wurstsalat - the waitress was quite impatient and not really serviceminded. However, go there for the food and the atmosphere ❤️☀️

Central location in a beautiful village. Excellent and extremely attentive staff. Always a pleasure to arrive and sad to leave.

This beautifully refurbished hotel in the heart of Westendorf is without comparison in this lovely authentic Austrian village. Excellent value for money, stylish and modern modern with 5* facilities which is able to match customer service with old style charm. 50 paces from the first lift this is the No.1 choice for alpine enthusiasts. Highly recommended.
