★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful stylish hotel .Fantastic lake views from all rear bedrooms. Superb food. Free afternoon cakes with your tea and coffee. Really pleasant helpful staff who all speak E.nglish. Bus stop very near the hotel. 4 euros to Salzburg single. 45 minutes journey.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous holiday at Hotel Hollweger, St Gilgen, Austria, (8th-15th Sept). Nothing was too much trouble for Gerda, and her excellent staff. Although we arrived late (after dinner), we were ushered into the dining room for a full dinner whilst our luggage was delivered to our room. A great start to our holiday.
Our room was perfect, overlooking the Hotel gardens and with a marvellous view of the lake. And although brings an extra charge, it is definitely worth every penny. Each aspect of the Hotel is first class ...... A lovely dining room, comfortable lounge/bar, and terrific patio in which you can dine, relax with coffee or drinks.
Great breakfasts and evening dinners
St Gilgen is a lovely small town, peacefull and relaxing. You can visit other towns and areas in the region via ferries and local buses. Salzburg is approximately 45 minutes by bus, from bus stop outside the Hotel.
Once again Gerda and Co., we thank you for helping make our holiday so pleasant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel is in a great location and parking is good. The rooms are old and look dingy. The staff in the restaurant is very rude. Had an altercation with a young guy in glasses. Asked for a to-go cup as several other guests received them for coffee. I was informed that this was not McDonalds. I informed him that other guests had received them from here. He just started speaking louder that he does not know. Completely ignoring me. I also would like to mention that the McDonalds comment was very prejudicial. We have come here for 5 years in a row. I would suggest that they improve their staffs customer service interactions with others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic family run hotel. The hotel is spacious and very well maintained. The staff are genuinely friendly always happy to help and advise. The facilities are good the swimming pool is indoor and spotlessly clean. Sauna and steam rooms are available as well as the options of massage. The food supplied by this hotel is excellent. Hotel Hollweger is well placed to enable you to walk the small distance into St Gilgan and is on a bus route that will take you to Salzburg in approx 45min . Hotel Hollweger is my personal recommendation .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location, nice rooms, delicious breakfast buffet, friendly staff = 5 stars. Highly recommended for a stay in the beautiful Salzkammergut region. A number of good hikes can be made directly from the hotel
