★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for stopover with children. They serve good Austrian cuisine for very fair prices. The kitchen is only operating on peak hours. So if you go there for a bite in the afternoon, just ask for the small menu. There are still dishes such as Schnitzel and Goulash on there, so you and your kids should be fine.
The really cool thing about this restaurant is actually the playground with a big yellow slide in summer. You can chill on the terrace while your kids entertain themselves around the corner. In winter there's even a tiny ski run that you could overview from the terrace.
They offer rooms, too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful surroundings in the nature, it is near Salzburg (15 to 20 minutes).
Our kids loved the outdoor play areas with lovely natural playground.
Very friendly, helpful and personal service from all staff.
Also nice and clean rooms.
The restaurant have traditional Austria cuisine.
Great breakfast!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The stay in Hotel-Gasthof Am Riedl was nice and cozy. The staff were super friendly and were ready to answer all inquiries and requests and the rooms were super clean.
They are a kids‘ friendly hotel providing an outdoor play area as well as an indoor playing room.
However they lost a star because the beds and pillows were not comfortable and there were little variety in the Breakfast.
The place is located in Koppl which is about 18-20 min by car from Salzburg.
