Too smokey and their meals are not as good as they used to be. Next time I stay in St Anton it will not be at the Fahrner.

The Fahrner's are an odd tribe of humans... I didn't read the reviews be for booking and that I regret. After I paid for 7 nights and was kicked out after once disagreeing with their cold hospitality and discrimination between clients, then they asumed i was on drugs (I have never taken drugs in my life and was incredibly distressed by this accusation) I went up to my room to pack my bags and check tripadvisor to see if somebody had a similar experience, found out about 10% of there reviewers had similar experience, which I think is not acceptable. The Fahrner's family looked over worked with an elitist attitude. I luckily found a free room at the Sports Hotel where I was treated like regular human being!

We visited the hotel around new-year 2015. This was an excellent experience. The host was there to welcome us at arrival, the service at the hotel was excellent, the breakfast and dinner was very good and the skibus service just worked. We had 7 enjoyable days at Hotel Fahner.

Management was unpleasant. Charged us for tap water , we asked the waitress why we were charged and she said she will check - 5 minutes later the owner came and did a whole scene yelling at us at breakfast. Charged us for extra money to checkout after 10. Overall - ok rooms, really bad location, good meals, and a very bad attitude by the staff.

I have travelled to Austrian ski resorts many times. Also in Vienna and in other Austrian cities dozens of times. So I am a big fan of Austria in general. I can be a little picky. But we are civilized people that understand the limits of our choices. FAHRNER HOTEL was THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD IN AUSTRIA OR OUTSIDE AUSTRIA. The place is not a 4 star in my opinion as it does not have any amenities apart from the furniture and a TV inside the room. The restaurant is good. We booked 2 rooms in January 2018. My brother in law and his wife were already checked in from one night before. The courtyard of the hotel was full of ice. Nobody helped us with the luggage. The rooms were cold when we checked in so we asked for other rooms. Mrs Fahrner acknowledged that the rooms were cold. Later on she was grudging at us about this. During the night the rooms got cold again. There is a family of 4 that manages the hotel. Mr Fahrner served us some interesting gins and he was quite nice. Mrs Fahrner and the son were quite the opposite. The son was shouting at some point at an employee in the restaurant. Actually the employee was his wife. Fahrner has a ski shuttle. On a few occasions the shuttle was late or did not come. For example one morning 2 of us were waiting at 10.27 as the shuttle was supposed to leave at 10.30. When asked if the shuttle is coming the son of the Fahrner family said that he already took someone to the lifts and that’s it. One evening also some of us waited for the shuttle to come at 18.00 as mentioned on their presentation booklet. When the shuttle did not appear a call was made to the hotel. The answer was that the last shuttle is at 17.30. 2 days in our vacation, in the evening before we decided to leave the hotel, my wife was waiting for the shuttle along with her mother (70 years old) and our daughter (6 years). Once again the shuttle was late. In the end it came but it passed the meeting place quite fast as they did not have time to cross the street or waive at it in order to be picked up. The shuttle was drove by the Fahrners’ son. So we picked a taxi. My wife was quite pissed off and approached the son complaining that he did not come in time and did not bother to look around. The younger Fahrner started shouting at us and being extremely offensive. His mother joined him. For example they said that my wife is an awful person that complaints too much. They have refused to accept the problems with the shuttle and have continued offending us. We are not the faintest of heart so we stood our ground asking them to take responsibility for their actions, to act like proper professionals that work in hospitality and to retract the offensive words. That did not help of course. His ego, lack of character and lack of professionalism made the younger Fahrner continue screaming, waiving his hands trying to intimidate us and everything else that makes a person look like is having a nervous breakdown. I think the episode’s duration was about 20 minutes. I was astonished by the nerve of the 2 so I did not lose the opportunity of reiterating all the problems. In the end they said that if we don’t like their hotel we can leave without paying for the first 2 nights as they cannot accept people that complain. Even from a commercial point of view they were not thinking too much. With a simple I am sorry when my wife had made her complaint things would have been fine. We decided to leave. So we left for the Himmlhof Hotel that proved to be an excellent experience. Also they did not move a finger in helping us with the luggage. They were extremely arrogant as we passed through the lobby. The son’s wife proved to have the same lordly attitude as she took our rooms’ cards. No good bye or anything else. My brother in law was put in an impossible situation as his vacation was fully paid through a third party company that allocates employees benefits. They wanted to move out also but they did not have a choice.

A wonderful 4 days with excellent food, first class service and welcome and friendly warm-hearted other guests. The gin collection was a pleasant surprise. I am glad there was no spa or wellness as the room facilities were just what I required and I don't like spa facilities much anyway: what is their purpose?? I look forward to staying at Hotel Fahrner again!

second year in a row I have come to this hotel. the staff are friendly, rooms are always clean and comfortable and the food is great, they cater well to vegetarians too which is a plus. good walking distance from the ski slopes too. look forward to my next visit.

It's a long walk from town to the hotel in the evening. 350 m up! Nice room, but less of shampoo and soap. Nice food if you can eat everything. For persons with allergy it's not the best place. When you order wine you should get the tap water free! The bottle water is very expensive! The bar is nice and can offer a lot. The hotel should have a place for non smoking guest like the bar! I will try an other hotel next time.
