A wonderfully located Hotel directly at the lakeside of Attersee. The italien waiters were very friendly and attentive. The coffe tasted great also the Tiramisu. All meals were served with a lot attention to details. The the cocktails perfectly mixed.

Food is not cheap but rather good. The main issue is that they refuse Amex cards because of « extra charges ». Not very convenient for business diners where a company is supposed to invite many persons, but at the end, an employee has to get hundreds of euros out of his pocket. Hence, they saved some euros tonight, but they loose clients and deserve a bad comment. Many other restaurants accept Amex cards and they are right.

There's not much better swimming and lake time than you will find here. Near the welcoming village of Seewelchen, home of the Attersee Klimt Museum is this moderately populated northern alpine oasis with a very mild mid summer lake. The Attersee Hotel is a destination for great eats, however, I don't think every main dinner course is a night to behold. The BBQ night fall very short even for EU and Mediterranean standards let alone my personal expert level American style BBQ which often gives way to my Mediterranean style grilling. The chef and hostess husband/wife partnership perhaps puts together the best well-rounded hospitality stay on Attersee if not putting on a wedding shower for their local friends (just one night, but still restricted my access to amenities without notice). The breakfast is more than what is expected in Austria with great breads, cheeses, sliced meat, coffees, and even American style bacon and eggs, plus much more. The swimming is excellent with a nice dock and floating dock just off the main dock. The waters look Caribbean blue and are very comfortable. I'll tell you that walking on this silt will provide you the best pedicure in town as you will find your feet clean of unsightly skin remains. If an afternoon storm rolls through you can make your way to the lower terrace which will lead you to the indoor edgeless pool. We spent tons of time in here even with great weather. The pool never had people in it and it was very pleasant. Having been a naval rescue swimmer I spent at least two hours everyday swimming the lake or pool. Some days I spent nearly 5 hours swimming and diving 30' to the silt of the lake. Perfect conditions and unbusy waters The Wifi and air circulation can use some work. The WiFi uses multiple SSIDs which can be difficult when trying to hang on to the internet to do some work abroad. A more sophisticated WiFi system would serve this place well. Staying in late July and early August for a week we experience hot sun and with humidity around 50% at 90F. Most days were 80F with 50% or so with and a few thunderstorms. I drove to Vocklabrock to buy us a couple fans at Obi (Home Depot)- Just don't expect English and use hand language if you don't have any German words. People in this region were great even if you don't know the language most do know English. We had ordered some food in Seewelchen in a downtown outdoor eatery near the train station and the server gave us number 44 in German. Everyone around us helped us remember our number. It was a great time. We have visited Austria before to see friends and spent a fair share there, but Seewechen and Attersee was a great place to not feel like and American and feel very welcomed. This place is a great place not only for it's offerings, but a central location to visit Salzburg, Hallstaat, and the Sound of Music. Visit the Keramik factory to the east for world famous Ceramics cups, plates, and bowls. We took a couple coffee cups home too. They do ship as well I recommend hotel Attersee, but remember it does not have AC. It does have the best view on the lake with the best terrace for an excellent gin and tonic. Hopefully the ownership understands that their guest expect full enjoyment of the grounds and not restricted because they decide to accommodate friends and the expense of guests. I can't give this place four stars, but giving it 5 stars isn't going to give this review any fairness. I would rate this place and my 7 day stay about 4.2 given the WiFi access, access to the terrace and grounds one night, and a little less on the lack of AC issue for the $.

the view from the room was amazing. and the lake was easy to access. the reason why i gave 2 star is because of the experience in cafeteria. one lady working in the restaurant saw me choosing the butter and she said "you cant bring it out of the cafeteria" . i didnt meant to do so and it was too rude expression.

The hotel offer an excellent view to the lake. Room was small but clean. WiFi is available for free in the whole hotel area. I stayed for 4 days in this hotel. But they only give me one small bottle of liquid soap. And did not give any replacement at all. This is my only small remark in this hotel. Otherwise overall is good.

The hotel is for a 2 star hotel nice equipped. The beach and the view is great.. The food really nice.. It's a good location to enjoy a romantic dinner.. Just one star less the rooms are OK but already quite old and the mattresses are bad...

Hotel very nice and nice team pre- and during- the stay. After the stay unfortunately, the Kundenservice on the phone could be much better... I just asked for two separate invoices for the total cost, which apparently is not possible due to month closure. Ok that can happen. What cannot happen is to challenge the customer over the phone with questions like... “Why?” “Or Why didn’t you do it during check-out then?” + pass the phone to someone else without letting the customer know first. That is against the Kundenservice 101s for a 4* hotel. But in general nice.
