Ich besuche die Ruine seit den 60er Jahren und kann jede Veränderung erkennen. Ausserdem hat man bei gutem Wetter eine tolle Aussicht. Well looked after for many years by a committed association. Always new parts come to light. I've been visiting the ruin since the 1960s and can see every change. In addition, when the weather is good you have a great view.

Vor dem äußeren Burgtor steht eine kleine Kapelle, die man leider meistens nur von außen anschauen kann. Zwar steht nur ein Teil der Burgmauern, kann man sich die ursprüngliche Größe der Burg vorstellen. Very beautiful castle ruins, surrounded by the forest. Walking time from the outskirts of Langenwang about half an hour. There is a small chapel in front of the outer castle gate, which unfortunately can usually only be seen from the outside. Although only part of the castle walls is standing, one can imagine the original size of the castle.
H	Helmuth Mayrhofer on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vorbildlich instandgesetzte und sanierte Burgruine welche auf dem schmalen, langen Rücken eines Ausläufers des Sulzkogels, etwa 100 m oberhalb der Marktgemeinde Langenwang gelegen ist. Hohenwang ist eine der bedeutendsten mittelalterlichen Wehrbauten der Obersteiermark und mit ihrer außergewöhnlichen Länge zählte die Anlage zu den größten Burgen der Steiermark. Die Burg dürfte bereits vor 1160 erbaut worden sein. Im Jahre 1525 richtete ein Großfeuer in den Gebäuden der Burg schweren Schaden an. 1770 wurde die Burg durch ein Erdbeben so stark beschädigt, dass man sie dem Verfall überließ Gegen Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges vernichtete eine Fliegerbombe etliche Mauerteile der einstigen Burg. Ein Besuch dieser wunderbaren Burgruine ist für jeden Interessierten lohnend und empfehlenswert. Hohenwang is one of the most important medieval fortifications in Upper Styria and, with its exceptional length, was one of the largest castles in Styria. The castle may have been built before 1160. In 1525 a large fire caused severe damage to the castle buildings. In 1770 the castle was so badly damaged by an earthquake that it was left to decay Towards the end of the Second World War, an aerial bomb destroyed several parts of the wall of the former castle. A visit to this wonderful castle ruin is worthwhile and recommendable for everyone interested.
