Great exhibitions if you like history. The royal palace is essential for the Haubsburger royal family history. The main hall is spectacular. Free concerts in the courtyard during July.

Went to see the Max 500 show in the Hofburg Palace, visually great, if you are not a German speaker and you get a chance read up in advance just to get the best of the show but even if not you will not be disappointed.

The palace had amazing halls. You could finish it in an hour. The giant hall with the mirrors leave you speechless.

If you love history, this is your place! It's not as grand or half as big as the huge Schloss Schönnbrun in Vienna, but is manageable and nice enough to spend an hour or two. U can totally do it on your own with an audio guide, and at your own pace. These days the exhibition comes in 2 parts, the modern presentation of the history and life of king Maximilian .The second part is the palace itself. For me, it's like a mini version of Schönnbrun. Its so near the famous Gold Dachl, you can't miss it, the iconic Hotel Sacher has a branch there, and how can one passes an opportunity to sample the famous Sacher torte?

Only went there to see one of the light shows. Although the show was decent, it was a historical story that was narrated in German. I would recommend adding an English narration to accommodate a larger visiting audience. In hind sight however, the museum located inside the palace should have been a better option.

A beautiful palace. It cost about 9 euro for one person to see just the palace. But we loved it. You cannot take a lot of photos

The renovations were done with incredible expertise. There was a film showing the before and after images. AMAZING amount of work. Rooms were furnished with period items and a complete dining table with all the fine table ware was impressive. No photos allowed which was a bit disappointing
