F	F. B. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mitten in den Feldern, ehe man nach Kittsee hineinfährt, fällt einem dieser typisch mittelalterliche Turm auf. Im Internet ist kurioserweise zu lesen, dass man sich unklar darüber ist, ob es ein Wach- oder Kirchturm war. Dass an den wehrhaften Turm ein Kirchenschiff angebaut war, erkennt nämlich auch der Laie. Der Turm ist der letzte Rest des 1529 zerstörten Ortes Lebarn und hätte etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient. Zum sehenswerten Turm führt kein beschildeter Weg, man muss durch die Felder gehen und hoffen, hier niemandes Besitz zu stören. Am Turm gibt es auch keine Hinweistafel zur Geschichte. Wer, wie die meisten, das Bauwerk eher zufällig entdeckt, ist auf Eigenrecherche angewiesen. In the middle of the fields, before you drive into Kittsee, you notice a typical medieval tower. Strangely enough, the internet is stating that it is unclear whether it was a watch tower or a church tower. The layman recognizes that a nave was added to the fortified tower. The tower is the last remnant of the village destroyed in 1529 and would have deserved a little more attention. There is no signposted path to the tower worth seeing, you have to walk through the fields and hope that you will not disturb anyone's property here. At the tower there is no sign of history. Those who, like most people, discover the building by accident, rely on their own research.

Auchsie sind heute verschwunden, standen aber zweifellos auf dem zur Gemeinde Berg gehörigen „Leberfeld”, das ihre Erinnerung heute noch festhält. Es waren sicherlich hallstattzeitliche Hügelgräber beträchtlichen Ausmaßes, wie wir sie aus vielen nahegelegenen burgenländischen Orten kennen, und dort im offenen Felde weithin sichtbar. Sie haben ja auch der späteren Ortschaft „Lewarn" den Namen gegeben. Very interesting! You can also see a bit of a lost town. Unfortunately, the two burial mounds no longer exist. Es wäre doch kein großer Aufwand der Landesregierung den Turm etwas schöner herzurichten, einen Asphaltweg bis zum Turm zu bauen, ihn etwas zu renovieren, Bänke und eine Infowand hinzustellen und vielleicht noch eine Aussichtsplattform auf dem Turm aufzubauen... It's a shame that something beautiful is rotting away. It wouldn’t be a big expense for the state government to make the tower a little nicer, to build an asphalt path up to the tower, to renovate it a bit, to put benches and an information wall up and maybe to build a viewing platform on the tower ...
