★ ★ ★ ★ ★ VOn Sankt WOlfgang (Ried) kommend, erreicht man diese Kapelle am Wegrand, nach dem steilsten Stückchen auf dem Weg hier herauf auf die höchste Stelle des Pilgerweges über den Falkenstein. Der Legende nach soll der Heilige Wolfgang von hier aus sein "Hackl" (Beil) geworfen haben. Wo dieses gelandet ist, steht heute die Wallfahrtskirche von Sankt Wolfgang am gleichnamigen See.
Coming from Sankt WOlfgang (Ried), you reach this chapel on the edge of the path, after the steepest part on the way up here to the highest point of the pilgrimage route over the Falkenstein. According to legend, it is from here that Saint Wolfgang threw his "Hackl" (ax). Where this landed is the pilgrimage church of Sankt Wolfgang on the lake of the same name.

When you get there (coming from St. Wolfgang) you have the worst behind you. From there it goes downhill.
