★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We’ve visited this place today. Being on tour from Amsterdam, we’ve expected a warm welcome and nice meal after an one hour hike. No way: Very unfriendly staff. Asked for a specific ingredient to avoid (due to severe allergies), the lady wouldn’t even ask the Chef. Simply stated: “what’s on the menu is what we serve; no changes possible”. Too bad we understand German / Steierisch; and saw your chef and his staff came outside said something to eachother then laughed hard. A pitty we could hear exactly what you guys said about us. You should shame yourself. Im thinking of filing an official complaint to your local government. We were not just tourists you could treat like we were nobody. Again: very very bad. The one star is for the five star view of the surroundings and mountains. P.S. “Rindsuppe” is not vegetarian.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this hut on a trip to Austria from the United States. The hike up is pretty easy on a very broad path that's shared with limited vehicle traffic (I assume farm and Hut workers). There are some cut-throughs that take you off the main path and add some interest. The location of the hut itself was absolutely beautiful. It was probably my favorite place we visited on our trip. Lots of birds, wildflowers, and a straightforward, fairly easy path up to the next hut. We regretted not speaking more German, as we missed out on what seemed like some wonderful friendly conversation, but the owner does speak English and was very welcoming to us! The food was delicious, and of all the Austrian food we tried, the food here was our favorite! The room was simple but very comfortable. We would love to visit again and spend more time in the area.

Staff were attentive and we had few drinks. Only 1 hour hike up from Buchauer Sattel (Admont). Food available.
Would definitely recommend.
