Most tourists will stay downstairs or go to the small and busy Gerstner location down the street. But if you want a real treat, head all the way to the top floor to the private rooms and you'll enjoy cake and coffee in the beautiful palace rooms! You'll dine in luxury, and for the same price as the other crowded location. The Gerstner cakes are absolutely delicious too. This might be sacrilege to some, but I prefer their Sachertorte to what's served to all the tourists over at Cafe Sacher, as it's moister and has more apricot filling in the middle.

We were a group of 5 people waiting for the table to be ready and "tried" to KINDLY Ask whether we could have a seating in the very nice area they advertise everywhere. The woman taking orders happened not to care even to listen and she would not even let me finish my sentence. I literally did not have the time to ask for a table when she aggressively said:"no!" and turned her head and move forward. Never again. By the way I went in the morning and everything was fine. To be honest, it's not worth spending 1 Eur if the customer relationship management is that horrible.
N	Nino Weiss on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Downstairs and the first floor are pure kitsch, and (in my opinion) to be avoided. But some might love the Disneyworld-ish atmosphere. Once you climb up one more flight of stairs to the “belle étage,” the chief story of the house, things are really beautiful. You find yourself in the luxurious apartments of Palais Todesco which had been built in the early 1860s for the Jewish family of Baron Eduard von Todesco. (Be aware that the “Belle étage” in the past was closed during the summer months.) Cakes and pastries taste good here, but what sets them apart is their looks! It’s definitely a spot for those who love to Instagram their food.

They have a good selection of cakes (including vegetarian and vegan cakes) as well a good coffee. The overall experience was really great!
